I did not enjoy Kid A when I heard it first,granted I had not listened to much warp/electronic music

Are you waiting for someone to explain what's good about it? Could you be convinced via words? If you don't feel it, you don't feel it. Maybe you will, maybe you won't.

Point taken, I'm just wondering if there's any elements in particular that have caused so many people on the previous page to reach such an enthusiastic consensus about how this music is "above" so many other types - "not just ambient" or what have you - to use the words you used, i don't see what is so complex about it that one must be evolved mentally to 'get' it.

Complexity is irrelevant. You know, it's just like food, a dish doesn't have to be complex to be special and whether someone likes it or not does not have to really step into the intellectual domain. Intellect is something you may wish to attach to music, but the emotional response people get from music doesn't have to be justified with intellect. In fact, it can't purely. People can wax lyrical about how they feel, but any response like that is an abstraction. Otherwise we wouldn't need music, we could just read descriptions of it and do away with it, but music is something more mysterious altogether, and therefore, I guess, so is taste.

I'm sure there are but I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that... not trying to antagonize, just communicate..

What I meant is that you're saying that you don't get why people dig this so much, but people don't necessarily get why you don't dig it and have to summarise the music in such a way. For the people who love it, the music speaks more clearly and louder than the most articulate intellectual reasoning for liking it or not.

i don't have to summarize the music to enjoy it. but in order to talk about it, you know, like someone might do on, i don't know, an internet forum for example, i do have to use words. sorry for my handicap

believe it or not, "i don't understand what makes people like this" is not a challenge and i'm not trying to get yall to whip out your musical or intellectual wieners and compare sizes (although i see that's happened regardless ). i just wanted a friendly exchange of ideas. sorry but i still don't think my attempts to communicate with normal human words are somehow destroying the crucial mystery element in music. i'm on a forum talking to people, hello!

Ah, the MySpace days... I discovered so much new music in the span between 2006 and 2008. Would love to get these Artist Valley pieces brought together for release still. Recalling I really liked a track called 'Cuckoo Clock' seeing as it brought a lo-fi percussive sensibility to compliment the tape-saturated folk guitars & pads, though since it was uploaded to MySpace all these Warp Bibio records have been released which exploded the aforementioned aesthetic to its respective limits and beyond.
