I'm ordering it anyway but.... yeah, that would be fair, too.

They did not disappoint at all with last year's Autechre special edition. Sure, it was a lot of money for something we already had, but once it's in your hands you realise it's worth it. And I think this is loads more epic, so...

I'm not that afraid of getting remastered BoC old tunes (actually, that would be really nice!), or a new version of a known Peel Sessions track... what I'm afraid of is that with this rare/unheard material (don't know why everybody's thinking here about more than one track, but let's be prepared for the possibility that this is just a short one from the Trans Canada sessions  ) that's everything we're going to hear from the brothers this year.
I can't help but somehow having this disquieting feeling that the Box Set completely rules out the possibility of a new BoC album this year, even though I am of the ones that want to belive in mdg's continuously encouraging words... so I guess my fears will surely be unfounded :)

60% excitement,
30% precaution,
10% facing complete bankruptcy...

mixed feelings. 8)

Well if you are only into BoC it indeed IS just a handful of tracks. This might be the only BoC on vinyl that I am going to pass up. I still am intrigued though, but not enough to lay down that much money. I have bills to pay.

Do they take into account we have heard all the leaked old tunes albums? I do hope they do, else they could just give us a track from one of the old tunes cassettes, because basically those should be unheard as they should've never leaked in the first place.

BOC!
A fair point but I reckon they chose to say 'unheard' when 'unreleased' is more usual in these circumstances.

Do people really think there'll be more than one BOC track though? I know the picture has five records all showing Boards of Canada / Autechre but the description says "Boards of Canada, Autechre, Broadcast, Elecktroids and others cut to 3 x 10” vinyl" So that's got be at least six artists with one track per side being usual on 10 inchers. And there's only three records anyway, not five like in the picture. Bottom line is that picture is a mock up of the package as they haven't even pressed them yet and so given that the numbers don't even add up we can't base anything on that picture.

I really can't wait to get this and I'm thankful that I'm in a position to be able to buy it. It is a lot of money and I'd be royally pissed off if the tracks aren't made available elsewhere (Bleep) in the long run.

The thing is that if they're not planning to release the tracks anywhere else than on this boxset, then they shouldn't have a problem with people torrenting or rapidsharing them.

well, they didn't release the tracks from autechre's Quaristice (versions) on Bleep or anywhere else, as they stated that the tracks on that CD would only be available in the steel-case set.

if that's anything to go by, the only place you'll be able to get hold of the special content issued in the Warp20 set is through your friendly local torrent site.

i'm just glad that i got my preorder in. regardless if it's just one BoC track or not, i'm interested in the set for more than just BoC

Warp20 (Unheard): Triple 10” Vinyl
Secret treasures newly rediscovered from the Warp vaults. Unheard and rare tracks by Boards of Canada, Autechre, Broadcast, Elecktroids and others cut to 3 x 10” vinyl. Housed in uncoated card sleeves with debossed typography. Vinyl exclusive to Warp20 (Box Set).
It looks like it will be exclusive to the Box Set, then.

^^ wow. you know at this point i'd prefer this version of a boc-set. i don't have a turntable and can't afford this vinyl set anyway. my cd player in the car just died too so it'd be delightfully ironic to have a set of casettes right now. oh well, time to dig out my old 90's radio mix-tapes...

Yeah, i think it would be a cool and nice surprise if the forthcoming boc box set would actually be delivered as C90's and included in the box a digital download code to get all the tracks in FLAC/MP3 for use at the computer.

That would make a nice deal!

Any ideas on what the 30 second audio clip is from? I'm not familiar enough with the entire Warp roster to know, but it doesn't sound like Autechre or BOC.
