I like Boards Of Canada (Of Course), Broadcast, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Autechre. That is all the bands I like that are on Warp. The fact that bands like "Battles" are on Warp makes me puke. I am so sick of that god damn indi rock disco beat shit. :x

really? let me hold some ends then, i'll hit you back on the first, my brotha!

no, but seriously....

i will be the first one to say that yes, $160 is a lot of money. that's a third of my month's share of rent! it's my fault for not having savings, blah blah. but i would argue that most people who provide all their own income and pay their own way (maybe around 50% of this board depending on ages) would find $160 for some records a shit ton of money.

don't get me wrong though. on the other hand, if i did have sufficient finds, i would probably buy this thing up. but unless you shit 20's, $160 is a lot money.

That is my opinion about them. Did I say Oscillik liked them? No.

People who still live with their parents or share rent with roommates and don't have many bills, good for you! As for the rest of us who work 50 + hours a week so we can live in the house we bought and drive in the car we bought and pay for the food we eat and so on and so on, it is just beyond unreasonable to spend that much. Oh well... I think I just really want it too though... hahaha.

i dunno what it's like in America, but i know for a fact that over here in the UK quite a lot of people can easily waste £100 on a night out drinking and eating, only to puke and piss and shit it out a few hours later.

of course it all depends on where you priorities lie - for some in this country that means getting shitfaced all the time. for others that means making sure you have a roof over your head.

and for a scant few of us, that means Warp20 boxset goodness :p

Take a look around here and you'll notice a lot of diversity in music taste.

I do like a lot of Warp artists except for all those rock bands Warp signed the last couple of years. I'd rather not have Warp to sign these artists but it's kind of logic from a commercial point of view. People who don't like the direction which Warp is heading into, should understand that Warp would never got where they are nowadays if they didn't move along. Not even to mention that IDM isn't as popular as it was a decade ago.

I still would buy this if there isn't a single BoC track on it... this thought even made me wonder if the topic is in the right section.

hmmm it's a hard one to moderate...

it is BoC news after all, but then again there probably will only be maybe 3 or 4 BoC tracks on there, while the majority of the content would fit into the "This Random Sound" section

OFF Topic:
and that is why i do not go out. unless it is a rare occasion.

ON topic:
I will be ordering this. I know if I dont I will be wishing I did. I kind of have to agree with the idea that even if BoC wasn't on here I would still probably buy it. This will be no different than a good records shopping spree. Expect it comes in a prettier package.
