GULP!

I just went to Darla records to check out Robin Guthries new album and on the front page I saw this interesting new release with Darla!

I WAS JUST BLOOOOooooooooooown AWAAAY by the previews!!! I heard about this long ago on myspace on their myspace and they sounded promising..but this is just something else!!!

IMAGINE Boards Of Canada mixed with Cocteau Twins on LSD!!! This is by far the most interesting and psychedelic band I heard in AGES! Im gonna buy this album tomorrow for sure!!!

I PROMISE you check them out you wont be dissapointed!!!

Ulrich Schnauss also recommened them on the darla site and he said the album IS FANTASTIC!

this sounds awesome but as i suspected absolutely nothing at all like BoC :lol:

not to pick a fight over nothing here, but seriously maybe about 2% of all the stuff people say is "like BoC mixed with..." or "BoCcish" sounds nothing at all like them to my ears...

Maybe you are right, I havent got the album yet, but I just thought they sounded a bit like BOC (wierd, psychedelic, bizarre in good way, dunno how to put it) but still very unique with a different and sound of their own...this is really interesting. Waht do you think it sounds like?

This is a very interesting new band!!!! and to my ears this could easily be the next big thing!

Probably what I should've said in the first place! Hard to say as I'm not as well-versed in shoegazy stuff. Since you mention Ulrich Schnauss, there's a bit of that in there. Some of it sounds a little like Depeche Mode (good Depeche Mode) heard through a fog of morphine and bliss.

But at any rate, very pretty, lush, soundtracky music, whatever else it sounds like.

Ah ok, cool. I dont think they sound sound much like Slowdive tho from the previews...yeah its shoegazy but both slowdive and ecovillage have their own distinct sound tho. I will get the album later and then report back.

I got the album....WOW! It sounds like LSD for the ears!

I would have to say that some tracks remind me of BOC, for example: Invitation and Mustard Seed. However I don't think I have heard anything quite like it before...I would say its even more psychedelic then BOC, at least while being stoned, then you really understand how "fucked up" this music is. The title-track is really something else...HOLY COW!

I give the album 5 out of 5! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Ok I listened to the album now and im absolutely mesmerized by it... :!:

I agree with Ulrich Schnauss and must say that this is indeed a fantastic album! The title track is beyond epic.

I would give this album a 9/10

Easily one of the best albums of the year so far.

oh my yes. its a comedy. I proudly salute Dan O'Bannon (hilarious as Pinback) and Carpenter for this low budgeted gem. a school film ala THX-1138. plus it has a great theme song. the DVD should have the critical extra scenes which can be programmed into the playing sequence, its an option or something. its just great.

edit : wow those comments on the youtube thing are so very daft.

edit : i'll pick up this album probably because of all the exclaimations!!!

Just saw the movie last night, it was bloody fantastic! thank you so much dave_from_2001 for letting me know about this movie! I wondering if the titel-track/name of the album is somehow related to the movie?

btw the end of the album gives me nightmares! ridiculously psychedelic! I love it!!! :twisted:

best album? I have not bought or heard any 2009 albums yet. that Lone EP on Bleep, the yellow one is sick though.
