Mark.Nine appreciation thread!

Post by ArtOfTheGroove »

I've been listening to Mark.Nine's "In Memories" EP for ages and loving it. A few days ago I decided to visit I/O Netlabel and discovered that Marcus is incredibly prolific - he's got 8 releases listed on his artist page. (I think Marcus is also Speakeasy... if I remember correctly from an old post.)

So I DLed all of releases and have been listening to them for the past couple of days - really excellent music! It fits in nicely with the other artists that I've been focusing on lately: Orange Crush, Gabriel, Track 53 (now Arctier), Cilocub and Boreal Network.

Yeah, good stuff. He and Five Step Path. Maybe they're the same person. I get so confused.

Track53 changed his name eh? Name changing seems to be all the rage these days!

Five Step Path= Tomas Borosko from Chicago. Different dudes. They both help me run the http://www.unnamedlabel.com thing we got goin, so new stuff by both those guys will probably pop up there in 2010.

Mark's music is fantastic though. He has a sound that is distinctly his own. 'Artificial Horizon' is my favorite of his albums (as far as a full 'album' goes), but if you want hear his very best tracks you have to dig around his earlier works on I/O. There are some real gems.

full length Speakeasy album coming around Fall/Winter this year.
Full length Mark.Nine album coming 2010.

Kind of crazy when you think about it, my last full length album was Artificial Horizon in '07. Where have the years gone?

Looking forward to this!

Just recommended your music to Somfay. He really loved your reckoner remix. I still love it too. Very lush remix.

Also got all your other work on my laptop with me all the time. Keep it up!

(listening In Memories atm)

Wow really liking all these albums especially "Where are we going", "Artificial Horizon" and "In Memories". Good variety of sounds and really beautiful songs. Surprised that he isn't more well known.
