I know man, I'll do my best. Will keep you and 88 informed as soon as I have more info. For now, everything's still on. My guess is that the 28th date applies to non-preorders.

Per Warp's site:
Out 28th September 09
WARP20.0

To commemorate our 20th anniversary, we will release a deluxe special-edition of music and art, titled Warp20 (Box Set).

The package features new songs, older previously unreleased material from Warp artists, tracks selected as some of his personal favorites by co-founder Steve Beckett and the top ten pieces voted for by Warp fans on Warp20.net. It also includes a beautifully produced book showcasing the label’s rich design history, along with an exclusive hour-long mix and a locked-groove vinyl set.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warp20 (Box Set) Preorder Information

Warp20 (Box Set) will be available to preorder from Bleep.com. Orders received before 5th July will receive a discount of up to 15% (based on your currency).

Due to the premium specification of the item, there can only be one pressing. The quantity manufactured will be based largely on these early preorders. A limited number of extra copies will be on sale after 5th July at full price.

Orders will be shipped to arrive by 25th SEPTEMBER 2009.
Both items are displayed next to each other: http://warp.net/records/releases/warp20/warp20-box-set

Not that I was blaming anyone here, either. Just saying, if we have to move the date I can't guarantee I'll be able to make it, which would severely bum me out!

I understand your position, but you're welcome to come by regardless of whether or not it arrives. Though again, I have a feeling all will be well.

Unfortunately, the orders will be delayed after all.

Very sorry guys. We can either cancel or reschedule, depending on what you'd like to do.

You'd think by handing them a $100 wad of cash, they could at least be punctual...

Warp is annoying. I guess i'm lucky i'm not one of their fans/customers who depends emotionally on their artists or the other stuff they do, because i'd feel pretty abused if i was. this is just stupid.

if you guys still wanna get together on the 26th and chill, i'm happy to attend. if we're going to schedule another listening party it'd work best for me if we could set it a few weeks in advance so i can request time off from work. friday nights or saturday works best for me.

I vote we still meet up! Might as well since we've been planning on it right? We could each bring some cd's or records and still have that fire, and we can talk about the new warp20 date when we're all together?

Good call guys...if you're still on board, let's do it. I think it'd be great just to share what we've been working on recently. I'm probably not alone on this, but I don't have many (any?) friends who do what we do...chatting with you guys about music/production/whatever would be something to look forward to, for sure. A fire will definitely be properly kindled and ignited in the back yard.

In summation: fuck it, let's just celebrate our own music.

honestly i'd rather be a part of our little local circle of music, here and now, than be a member of hexagon sun. easily. hands down no contest. this is far more special to me.

And we should also snap some photos to show off, hopefully show up the Netherlands meeting thread 8) show 'em how we do it!

Sucks that I couldn't get off work next sunday but I'll still be there saturday, just can't stay til the wee hours of the morning! I'll work on getting some unfinished tracks together, and some of my really really old gems that I haven't shown anyone - will speak with cole about possibly meeting somewhere and taking a single car. Is it just the three of us then?

dudes, this meeting is fine but remembers that, on the warp box, there are only one (or two) new BoC tracks ! what are you gonna do when they'll put out a proper BoC set or a new album ?

Actually, photographs are sissy and European. Let's take x-rays of the event. Nothing says "America" and "up yours" like radiation. We can also add copious amounts of needless CGI in post-production.

I think so...will send a PM to both you and Cole regarding time, location, etc!

Well, (a) the set isn't coming in time, so we've had a change in plans anyway, but (b) this is a Warp box set, hence it being a Warp 20 listening party, rather than a BoC listening party. The latter would not have made much sense, being tragically short.

One of these days perhaps I will have enough financial mobility to come to one of these gatherings!
Unfortunately, today is not that day. Have a good time everyone, I'll be with you in spirit.
Cheers,
Will

this sounds like a blast.

anyone know of the empire builder? i'd love to view the countryside from the kettle moraine to the twin cities.

then, to experience the kickass adventures you speak of, skytree? alas, if expenses permitted...
