Brandon, thanks for sharing, man. That was gorgeous. I think "Shine" is actually going to make my 'gifts from god to ryan' list, right up there with 'Tha' and 'Satellite Anthem Icarus.'

Btw, I just found the bonus edition of 'Just For A Day' on Allmusic (where I was doing my research and couldn't find the reissue originally). I think I preempted that one a little bit.

It looks like that's going to be my next purchase for sure.

Slowdive has been the perfect soundtrack for today.

i think i mentioned this before, i came upon them from a post on another board (sigur ros messageboard) a long time ago and the files haven't been taken down since.
there was also a link to a mojave 3 messageboard where they had posted their unreleased sountrack for the movie "You are the elephant, i am the mouse" of which i only kept one track, i'll upload it in a minute,.

Are the demos any good? I wasn't a particularly huge fan of Pygmaliion. It had some good stuff but a lot of it was eh...

Eh, they're ok I guess. Worth downloading though for "Watch Me".

Pygmalion has really grown on me as of late. "Miranda" and "Blue Skied 'An Clear" are so darkly gorgeous.

Yeah, I remember you saying that. I guess my question was more along the lines of how the demos got leaked on the internet in the first place. Did Slowdive do it? Is there an original source somewhere?

Oh, and I like the demos. But, like everyone has said, "Watch Me" is the real gem. A shame it never properly saw the light.

oh, no idea about how they got out; but it must've been someone quite close to the band..

i'm reuploading the souvlaki demos to sendspace ( http://www.sendspace.com/file/0o91j5 ). they're a must listen: there's a collab in there with Brian Eno?! an idm-ish remix of Shine?! and an amazing song called Joy! whaaa

and yeah TD there are at least two versions of Shine: http://www.cs.sfu.ca/~torsten/Music/Slowdive/ (lots of goodies in there, unfortunately not lossless)

IM SO F-ING CRAZY.

So I just bought the remastered reissue of "Just for a Day" and "Souvlaki" as well as Tangerine Dream's "Stratosfear" and Mile Davis' "Kind of Blue". I'm sort of junkie.

But I just heard Reload's remix of Slowdive's "In Mind" and it blew me away and it also blew another 50 bucks out of my wallet.

Damn. I swear, someday, if I'm ever really rich, I'm gonna become a patron of the arts because it's the only thing I actually ENJOY spending money on. Even food is a burden to me financially. I really only want CDs.

Btw, I don't know if you were fishing for a lossless copy of that Reload mix Nlogax, but maybe something can be worked out when they arrive...

not necessarily lossless, 192kbps is fine for me; but whatever's easier man, thanks!

I highly recommend the self titled debut from Jatun. I just found out about these guys last night, heard a few clips, and immediately bought their album off itunes. (believe it or not my first itunes purchase) It might just be the best spur of the moment purchase I've ever made. It's really more electronic than shoegaze, but all the necessary elements are there. Check it.
