Anything natural is chaotic, this universe is chaos.

There are alot of woods around my house. So I always like to go find new trails or spots deep in the woods that I havent before. I walk back there, bike there, jog there. When it rains it gets flooded back there washing up all kinds of things...interesting...There is park about 3 miles from my house that is HUGE with tons of bike trails streching over several miles. I like to go there too.

I consider my back yard a secret garden...so alot of times I will go out there with my camera and just snap pictures of all sorts of random things. Anyplace out doors with my camera and I am a happy person. Also any place where I can ride my bike outside I am happy.

When the weather has just turned from summer to fall and the air is cool enough, I go camping. I like to be cold when I go camping. It gives me an excuse to build a campfire. There are tons of places within a small driving distance that I can go to and camp. So thats nice.

Really any chance I get to be outside i will take it. Even if its raining or extremely cold. I even like to record either completely outside or with my windows open. I love the natural ambience of the outdoors.

Exactly. A lot of people don't understand that there is indeed perfection. The universe is perfect through its randomness and chaos.

Does anyone here do any rock climbing? If so, where did you go to learn it?

I'm going to attend community college this fall and I was hoping there would be some clubs that go out and hike/ climb/ camp/ what have you. I need to meet some new people that are into this kind of thing. People who know where the action is... so to speak.

Love Mallorca so much. Was there about 6 weeks ago for a long weekend. Love nothing more than exploring the hills in the North of the island. Beautiful...

Backpack, boulder (rock climbing), mtn. bike, trail run, kayak (sea mostly), surf, work a farm, bale hay, plant, harvest, repeat. I've spent most of my life outdoors in nature. It is the biggest influence on our music and my life.

There's not exactly much nature out here. Living in the middle of a large, busy town (It's not huge, but it's not small, either).
But I do go for walks around my neighbourhood sometimes, and I bike ride around my block occasionally, but I live on a hill, so not much fun riding up...

Hijacking this thread to share the little BOC evening me and my partner Eleanor had last night. Quiet beach, warm humid evening, BBQ food, cold cider and BOC on the stereo while the sun went down and the moon crept up. Just beautiful....

So I'm back with more outdoor type stuff for those of you trapped in urban hell - lol

Just got back last night from a few days away exploring the Peak District here in England. Had a full day walking the route across Kinder Scout, which is where back in the 1930's hundreds of protesters marched to demand free access to common land in the UK. Glad to say they won so I could enjoy things like this:

We started here, heading for the crags that you can just about see under the low clouds there.









The lake/reservoir below is where we started from. These shots were taken about 1/3 into the route. Took about 6 hours all told.







Luckily this guy below wasn't coming to collect us! He did nearly take my head off though - man he was low!!

Mexicola those shots are awesome but I think i would just about end myself if I didn't live in a heavily forested place. anywhere you go outside the city that isn't farmland is covered in trees here. I would probably break down and cry if my surrounding landscape was as treeless as that place looks

Going off Turquoise70, I like a mixture of fields and forest. Especially when in places like Upstate New York there are allot of abandoned farms, (example being my great-grandmother's) and its a magical thing to be wandering around in dense forest and suddenly stumble upon an old field with a rusty car half-buried in the earth, and ancient medicine bottles lyin' around.

Yeah, I know what you mean. We do have forests here too, but mainly up in the far North of England and Scotland, although nothing like the forests I'm guessing you guys in the States have, or even those on mainland Europe. When I travelled across Siberia the taiga forest seemed to be endless, stretching as far as the eye could see. Time was (so I'm told) animals could have journeyed the full length of Britain without touching the ground at all. No longer sadly..

On the other hand, much as I love dense forest (and I do), there is a certain majestic eeriness about fells and crags, especially when it's cold. Maybe you have to be from here to get it?

Anyone else been anywhere interesting lately?

There's lots of areas that look allot similar in Alaska, especially around the rockies up here. I was at this place awhile ago, and I was like......hey this looks like the cover of Rushup Edge!

i go walking and camping.

a tip to go camping is to just do it.
i think some people are afraid of the preparation, but you really don't have to prepare a lot.
all you really need is a tent, a sleeping bag, some food, and a change of clothes.
it doesn't matter how long you stay out or where you go, its going to be a nice experience.

You cant beat epansive plains. trees are nice but they can be infinity blockers.

I miss the East Coast....Alaska is cool and all, but so far its a bit too epic for me.

I'm down for pretty much anything. If you need some tips I would suggest going to a sporting good store. They should be able to set you up. A warning though it can get a little expensive and helps a lot if you have friends to go with you. Here is my share of pictures of myself.

If all goes as planned, i'll be going camping for the first time up north for 3 days. me and 3 friends from college are gonna go backpacking up in the north shore superior national forest next weekend. should be fun.
