Haha, it is pretty awkward to watch. I mean, you can imagine just sitting there listening to this amazing music in some hot ass weather, sweat dripping down the crack of your ass, your mouth dry as the dirt that you're sitting on, skin all beat red, but some how ya just listen to the music and love every minute and everything else can take a flying leap. Must have been amazing to say the least. But yeah, the slight head bobbing was funny.

i saw some fella on WATMM calling everyone there zombies haha

really, it was not the right vibe to be breaking out some exhibitionist moves, i just stood there in the same pose i used to make when i went to church in my young days funnily enough. i looked at the sky and at the kids playing and couldn't help but be moved.

I would have laid down like I saw a couple of guys do. That's usually what I do when I first listen to an album. I thought it was funny in the livestream a bunch of people were like "why aren't they dancing? Get up and dance!" Haha what? It's not like it was some rave in the desert.

I feel bad about commenting on what people were doing though, i probably would have done something totally embarrassing like bursting out into tears or doing some crazy serpent dance or something.

I think it's great that they shifted their sound a bit away from what everyone is used to but still absolutely retained the essence of BoC. It's something totally new and unexpected but at the same time something completely familiar.

This! yeah, I like TCPH, but god is it BOOORING! Doesnt really go anywhere and it came out after one of them said a few good words about Bibio so to me it sounds like they wanted to have a go at what he was doing and it didnt really work out for them.

Yes it is a listenable ablum, great for sunny days, but thats really it for me, Dayvan Cowboy, snooze after a few listens. Not trashing the album, just my opinion is all

It annoys me as well that when I recommend them to people they always skip over the other albums and always got for Campfire, just feels like its a bit of an extension of Air's Moon Safari.
They did say in an interview around CFHP release that they wanted it to sound like CFHP came before MHTR... and I get that but, mah.

Anyway...

I think with TH's they are working on a new sound, changing their equipment to more digital but holding onto that warboly vintage sound we all know. I mean, MHTR.. came out in 1998 (15 years ago ) Geogaddi came out 11 years ago, CFHP 7 years ago(?) they need to change there sound and it seems like its paid off with the first 3 tracks I have heard. The transission from Gemini to RftD was amazing from what I could hear, darker, faster, loads going on.

Sure look at Daft Punks new album, its amazing, different sound to Human, Discovery and Homework and it really works, artists have to grow and I hope people enjoy the journey, sure isnt that what music is really all about.

Argh, I'm rattling on here, cant wait to hear it all in full!!!!!!

PS: Wonder if they will release an EP after the album drops too...

It's so interesting to read these wildly varying opinions on here (especially because I don't know many who like the band in my vicinity). TCH was the first album that I was introduced to and, although I agree about Dayvan Cowboy to an extent, I'm just shocked at the idea of the album being boring and going nowhere!

It's so interesting to read these wildly varying opinions on here (especially because I don't know many who like the band in my vicinity). TCH was the first album that I was introduced to and, although I agree about Dayvan Cowboy to an extent, I'm just shocked at the idea of the album being boring and going nowhere!

As I said, thats just my personnal opinion, other people love everything about that album, its just not for me, it didnt have the same impact that MHT.. and Geogaddi had when I first listened to them back in 1998 and 2002. But from the first 3 tracks I heard yesterday I got that feeling back, that they have made something very special here and that I cant wait to listen to it in full for many years ahead.

I'm glad nobody tried to dance to the JC tune actually, it conjures up all kinds of odd images lol.

TCFHP to me seemed like it would get right at the precipice of being quality stuff, and then sink back into meh. For me at least.

I'm expecting TH to cure cancer AND aids.

I'm expecting a very dark album (obviously) to go along with current world events. When you think of all the events that occurred from 2006-2013 and are going on now its no wonder they went for the dark sound. It will be the soundtrack to the world's demise in the coming years. It will definitely not be an album you will just throw on while watching the sunset or taking a cruise through some scenic area.

I'm looking forward to that. But if they somehow drew on those experiences and created something peppy...that would just be some level of meta-creepy.

I expect an album that won't initially be amazing right away, but will require a couple listens to really appreciate fully

Yeah that would be more creepy. I read a lot of people on here saying how will they first listen to it and they say they will go out to the forest or up on a grassy hill looking at the stars or whatever and I just don't see it being in tune with the album. It won't be connected with nature like that. Just my opinion! Not even sure how an lsd trip would go with this album...probably would be a bad trip.

I am mighty jealous of those who got to listen to the album in it's entirety. I can't wait for June 10th to come, i am both excited and anxious at the same time. I've never been let down by a Boards album in the past, infact, i can't really pick a favourite album because they all have their special moments in my northern heart.

In fellow Twoismer's opinion, what does the new album sound like the most, Geogaddi, Music Has The Right, Campfire? I told myself i'd keep away from reviews of other people, but i've got no self control!

eh, I've gone out in the woods to listen to autechre too. I just like being by myself outside listening to music. I'm not gonna go inside like some giant industrial warehouse just because that seems "more autechre". Outside's the place to be for me.

I live right on the beach and I've been listening to all these songs out on sand under my umbrella in the rain and it's been lovely. You can never tell what fits for some people.

I've been listening to Gemini, Reach For The Dead, White Cyclosa, the incomplete Jacquard Causeway, and Cold Earth over and over again. Gets better with every listen and I love all of it. So I have very high hopes that the rest of the album will be just as good, if not better. It's shaping up to be my fondest dream of a next BOC record.

Hard to really give you a good idea, but for sure it's the opposite of Campfire. If anything I think it's closest to Geogaddi in mood, but more consistent with songs/tracks you're more likely to listen to over and over and over and over again (Geogaddi get's pretty sound-collagy in it's 2nd half). It also is a bit more beat oriented than any of their albums track-to-track, but also never goes into all out random rhythmic assault (ala Pete Standing Alone or High Scores).

Tonally, the 2 long unknown tracks from the ATP bootleg would not be out of place on this album--that may actually be the best point of reference.

There's a few tracks that get into more shuffle/off beat stuff like Burial. Not that it sounds like it (at all!), but you'll see what I mean. There's also a lot of juxtaposition of melodic parts that seem to in and out of rhythm/phase with each other, kiiinda like Nlogax.

In the rain though....that's fits well. Would it be the same to you on the beach in the sun? I guess it doesn't matter really as your mind can be at any place it wants to be.

This isn't necessarily what I expect, more what I want the album to be like, from what I've heard. It'll hopefully have a dark aesthetic like Geogaddi, with some tracks like You Could Feel The Sky. I doubt it'll be as relaxed as The Campfire Headphase, but I assume the production will be just as if not more sophisticated than it. Reach For The Dead reminded me of Peacock Tail for some reason, so hopefully like Peacock Tail it'll be the real "calm point" of the album, so the rest of the album won't sound necessarily like that. The beats will hopefully be similar to those on MHTRTC. It'll be conceptual like The Campfire Headphase was, but the concept'll be much more thinly veiled. I've got good expectations of it, but I want to wait until it's released and I get my CD to listen to it in good quality, I can't get behind listening to poor quality tracks and having judgements based on that.
