It's not something that I'd considered jcotteri but I'll go take another listen.

The vignettes can be found on their instagram account, not sure if the vignettes are on their FB as well.

Some are really cool.

ive had it since it was released digitally, cant get enough of it, really love the aesthetic they have put through with this one. its a bit depressing lyrically and doesnt have many wow moments but musically/sonically its beyond superb.

I've had to walk away for a little bit. I usually wake up in the middle of the night to take a leak and every time I did a track off this album would pop in my head and I'd be up the rest of the night trying to get it out of my head.

It's the weekend though, so I'm going back in!

I know what you mean but I'm not convinced its a direct influence. Sounds more coincidence to me. Interesting spot though, I'd not made the correlation until you pointed it out.

yeah I'm with Mex,

Not saying you're wrong,
but it's a some what strained connection in my opinion,
it's like saying that The Numbers was influenced by this track simply because of the string sections, the chord progression and the arrangement;



I just pulled out a track at random from my library,
It's just probably the unavoidable idea crossovers which can occur nowadays.
No doubt that Radiohead are aware of SOTL and understand their greatness, but when it comes down to the tone and timbre of a drone which kicks off a track, then it's harder to buy (at least for me)

Thanks Mexicola and TTK. I appreciate your thoughts. I just had to get that off my back as it was haunting me a bit. I need to listen again to try and shake the thought.

I also want to say that Identikit choral pads section sounds pedestrian and shouldn't be in there. It just doesn't fit. Apart from that this album is one of their greatest. I love essentially every part of it. The rhythmic electronic sounding drums and the guitar progressions particularly. Ethereal and completely immersive.

Looking forward to their headline set a Glasto tonight. Beers and Vape at the ready

I hope it lives up to '97 and '03. Both of those sets were incredible.

Holy Roman Empire, that was positively incredible. Never thought they'd match 97 or 03, but wow was I wrong. Blinding.

Oh and the roar from the crowd during No Surprises (Bring down the government, they don't speak for us). Perfect.

Can't help but feel it says something about Glastonbury these days that 20 years ago Radiohead were put on as headliners as a young band, a couple of weeks after releasing their third album.

Super, super set. Mesmerizing.

The sequence of Let Down, Bloom (best song off the iffy TKOL), Weird Fishes/Arpeggi and Idioteque was stellar.
