Maybe it was the date that the re-presses was meant to be announced then just plonked it out as it was found by accident.

Hahah too right. We most certainly do not. We just date the dates as we write them out longform, i.e. "August 21st (or rather 22nd for you), 2013". Do other countries tend to write it out as "The 21st of August, 2013"? Or is it universally stated "August 21st" or the reverse of that for countries like Japan? If so, why would you then put the day first when doing the numbers?
