For a second, I thought everyone here was losing their minds, but then I remembered that in Canada, the date format is DD/MM/YYYY.

im pretty sure Japan does theirs backwards (because they read right to left) and every other country uses DD/MM/YY because most people left to right

whereas in America they just read whatever they want in whichever order most pleases them

Hahah too right. I think about the only thing we do that makes more sense than the UK at least is driving on the right side of the road.. otherwise the dates and spellings make a hell of a lot more sense to me.

year/month/day

keeps all files grouped chronologically. [providing you use the date as the start of your files name]
some places are starting to adopt my structure

It's from the Tomorrow's Harvest inner sleeve artwork. There is a picture on upside down "822". I guess some fans on here think there is going to be an additional release or an announcement on 8/22 this month.

We most certainly do not. We just date the dates as we write them out longform, i.e. "August 21st (or rather 22nd for you), 2013". Do other countries tend to write it out as "The 21st of August, 2013"? That seems excessively long.

Or is it universally stated "August 21st" or the reverse of that for countries like Japan? If so, why would you then put the day first when doing the numbers?
