So, I have a musical project with a very good friend of mine that emulates some really obscure band this forum is very cleverly and obscurely named after. It's completely a passion project of ours and we figured that we aught to share the fun with other BoC fans because there's really no reason not to in our eyes, though we have worried of criticism towards the purpose of the project itself and other stuff of that nature which is why I find it necessary to clear a few things up.
I just want to say that this is completely a side project of ours which is made with the intention to emulate the atmosphere, mood and a lot of the sound that Boards of Canada has in their music that we love so much. We are not trying to reach for fame or an actual career under this guide or this sound and we simply wish to spread our music to all of you fine ladies and gents. We have 3 tracks on our soundcloud at the moment so please do go listen and if you like it then let us know!
This has been a routine public service announcement. For more information, please visit our web site at www.soundcloud.com/dreamlandcircus.

Well we didn't study Boards at University so we didn't really aim for 100% on the mark reproduction of their music haha. Like I said, just aiming for the mood and general sound. Also I'm pretty sure they've used way less fx on synths than on those two examples you gave, but I forgot about all of those silent 70s documentary samples.. I'll get on that right now! I've heard it adds an impeccable layer of pretentiousness.Cupz wrote:Some parts in new sun child are pretty BoCy, I doubt they'd use a raw square wave like that though. Same goes for the saw wave in Smokey. And its missing about 50 layers of silently mixed 70's documentary samples.
Also Smokey Parks was more of an aim for the Twoism/Old Tunes sort of lofi flavor. Thanks for listening though
