Stowed Under?

Post by subset »

first, hello to everyone here. i've been reading this forum for quite a long time and always enjoyed the positive and friendly atmosphere here - quite different from any other message board i've ever been to. so, i guess i'll spend some time here now and then and try to be more active than what i'm used to (i'm a bit lazy, i confess :)).

and the second thing, the one that actually has to do with the topic title, is perhaps a little speculation but an interesting possiblity. there was an xltronic radioshow hosted by Autechre and in the fifth part there was a track that has so much retro BoC feeling to it that i'm almost certain it's something from the old tapes which the Autechre guys possibly have. the way it fades in and fades out makes me think it's a complete song, 4:16 long, which matches nearly perfectly Stowed Under (4:15) from Catalogue 3. no other track gets closer to this timing. here's the excerpt. we might have a winner here!

hmm very interesting indeed... especially because the melody does actually sound a bit stowed under... you can hear the melody but it's quite far away.. kinda hidden in the mix...

Welcome on board subset.

This Autechre set was indeed very special, I was listening live back then and I was well pleased with all the tunes they played.
I don't really thing this is BoC, I'm more thinking about Legofeet though.

It's Remarkable that you post this here instead of at xltronic.

i used to post on xltronic in the past but sarcastic wise-ass comments seem to be the standart way of talking there. so i even don't visit that site nowadays. only once in a while to check out the radio shows.

I've been an addict for almost 3 years there and of course I've seen some stupid comments and a lot of sarcasm but it sure ain't a standard over there.
I do wonder if you mistaken xltronic for watmm? ;)

I do believe Elusive already tried to sort out the tracklist with the help of a lot of members.. if you gently ask I'm sure they'll give you an answer without being a sarcastic wise-ass.

I contacted Elusive on icq.. I'll keep you guys updated!

(listening that 7hour set for the first time now.. I'm truly amazed by the vast amount of unknown but very cool tracks)

It sounds "sorta" BoC but I'm not sure I'd say it was their's...

but you can't verify if it's indeed a track by Tim Clark?

Like many other IDM musicians they've done an xltronic radioshow. Here you can download most of them as a torrents.

Great track. It's got kind of a Vangelis vibe to it. I don't think it's BOC though. I'd love to know who it is.

whoa!

this definitely sounds like it's older than BoC. truly vintage sounds.

i'll post elsewhere and see if someone knows.

I kinda agree with the Vangelis vibe.
