Wildlife Analysis & Aquarius. Yes, I don't care too much for Aquarius. It's funky, and I like the voice samples, but I just find it easily skippable.

If you're going to skip Aquarius, then why even listen to the album?

I don't actually skip any tracks when listening to the album, but it's one of the ones that I would consider skipping if I was in a rush or something. Opinions :P

You could say that both BoC and Macintosh Plus are nostalgic and unsettling? :D

The difference is that BoC is good.

The only vaporwave album I've ever enjoyed was Eccojams, basically what inspired the whole sub genre. I don't like Floral Shoppe either, but don't be too quick to dismiss the genre just because it is entirely sampled. Chuck Person (Oneohtrix Point Never) shows off a great ear and knack for editing, as well as an inspired mind in everything I've heard from him.

If you want to have a conversation about that feel free to PM me, I don't want to sidetrack this thread :]

The reason why I dislike Vektroid is because she adds nothing to the genre. Her music is a complete and uninspired ripoff of original artists like Daniel Lopatin and James Ferraro, with nothing new; just rehashed ideas that other people have already done before and better. Eccojams is much more original and enjoyable than Macintosh Plus. Even as far as that style of sampling goes, IT'S ALL POINT BLANK by DIGITAL NATIVES does it more tastefully than Vektroid.

And vaporwave isn't a genre. It has no unified sound of its own; the only uniform characteristic of vaporwave is the image. Therefore it is a scene or an aesthetic or whatever you want to call it, but it is not a genre.
