Trans Canada Highway turns 10
So yesterday marked 10 years of Trans Canada Highway. I was still in college back then and really liked it.

Cracking EP. The final moments of Skyliner are musical bliss!

Time is kind of like something that goes incredibly fast, yet moves not at all.

Time is an intuition created by the mind in order to perceive multiple things in the same place and singular things in different locations and in different states of existence. This is why it's subjective, passes in an instant, and isn't perceived when the brain is unconscious.

i really enjoy both trans canada highway and in a beautiful place out in the country.
trans canada highway feels like an extension of the campfire headphase, like they are tracks that just didnt quite fit the album.
in a beautiful place out in the country feels like its own album, like the tracks were produced intentionally for a 4 track record.

i love how they took the artwork from an old car catalogue... everything about this EP from the artwork to the sounds to the track titles and the inclusion of Nosdam's work with Dayvan Cowboy feels so refined and clear.
to me, Trans Canada plays as a companion to Campfire Headphase yet lives in an entirely different world. The altitude of the music feels really high.

agreed, trans canada higway feels like an extension of campfire headphase, but not just that, it's lke track driving music, but not exactly, in a beautiful place out in the country feels like a distinct separate worldFireal420 wrote:i really enjoy both trans canada highway and in a beautiful place out in the country.

I hear that loud and clear! They definitely turned down the atmospheric pressure on this oned e n wrote:The altitude of the music feels really high.
I'll use this thread as yet another chance to shout out Odd Nosdam for all the folks abroad that may not be familiar with America's master headphaser; I understand his remix is the source of much contention for many, but anyone who favors lush, 3-dimensional melodic tunes packed to brim with hidden crannies of sound and emotion must check out his albums "Burner" and "Level Live Wires"! Anyone looking for a good entry level Nosdam track should check out "Kill Tone", "Small Mr. Man Pants", "Fat Hooks", or "Untitled 3".
Anyway, happy bday TCH! Looks like this album is a Gemini :0

Always been in the love camp of his mix. Remixing DC is ballsy because DC is so good and has such a clear flow and structure. He brings something new to it and makes clever use of some buried bits to make it his own.
I love this whole era of BoC and I don't care if this is my increasingly old man ears talking but it didn't sound like 2006 music then and it doesn't sound 10 years old now.

The 6 months he spent making the remix were WELL worth it!
Kill tone 2, and up in flames are the only 2 that havent been mentioned that I can think of off the top of my head

Time does not move. It's pretty much a constant. It just has the effect of making everything else move. Any ideas involving different increments of time were only invented after viewing time through a strictly material/physical lens. Time seems to speed up based on relative perception, of which there many ways those two words can apply to the idea. So... what you said.Cupz wrote:Time is kind of like something that goes incredibly fast, yet moves not at all.
