BoC Rain Songs

Post by Jango9 »

Pretty much all of Twoism (the album, not just the song) makes an excellent soundtrack to being inside during a thunderstorm, and likewise the Satellite Anthem Icarus > Peacock Tail duo is perfect for when it's both raining and sunny at the same time.

What other tunes can you folks think of that also fit this theme? (I'm sure most of Geogaddi would work, but haven't really tried it recently)
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

About 11 years ago I was travelling a lot for work, and one particular trip took me through a crazy snowstorm and Nlogax and Red Moss are now forever reminding me of the worst of it. You couldn't see the road - the ditch, pavement, shoulder...all blended together - crazy as hell!

But - back on topic...

Reach for the Dead has a good vibe if you are driving into/waiting for a thunderstorm to hit. Has a really ominous build up, paired with the impending darkness of a storm goes well.

Echus has a FANTASTIC cold, dreary, rainy day vibe to it. I could see sitting near a window with that playing and watching the rain.
I AM GOD. THE ULTIMATE RESONANCE.

There are a lot of different 'me's, you know. There's the mad me, when I get angry.

In my opinion, The Campfire Headphase, or at least most of it, are quite amazing to listen to on rainy day. It has this cozy and warm feeling to it - which Constants Are Changing sums up pretty well. I feel like that specific track is perfect for when it rains, like that the grass is greener on the other side (even though I do love rain). Heck, I even use it when I'm flying, because its such a good jack of all trades track. Farewell Fire also serves a perfect closure to a rainstorm with sun starting to shine again, and then Macquarie Ridge is afterwards when you are outside again in sunny weather, but can still smell the rain and then proceeds to jump around in poodles, because why not. I would also say that IABPOITC -and TCH EP works quite well with rain/thunder - ideal for just sitting infront of your window and watching the rain pour down.

So as you might have guessed... I crazy about rainy days - possibly mental

Depends on the rain :)

I listened to Geogaddi yesterday and noticed a storm rolling in. Right around Beach at Redpoint it started getting loud, and I realized how well the song and storm matched up. Sounded like sitting in the wind and rain and thunder during a storm. The whole album is kinda like a thunderstorm in a way.

Kinda ironic, but for gentle rain Turquoise Hexagon Sun is perfect imo.

personally I just don't get any earth's weather vibe from their music, it's too synthetic and sunny for me, it's like those upper layers of the atmostphere coloured with turquoise, there are probably just charged ions

When TH came out, I sat out on the balcony during a storm- Come to Dust. Maybe not for rain itself, but perfect for a storm.

I actually have a strong "the storm is coming" vibe from all the TH and Come To Dust may be the culmination of it

The first time I heard ataronchronon I was transported back to a moment I was laying in a giant sod field and the grey skies and wind contrasted the green grass so much.... it was amazing and that song will always take me there

The whole of TCH reminds me of when I visited the countryside for Halloween a few years back. The last few tracks remind me of rain and isolation and darkness.
