Pioneer 10 plaque, last transmission?
The last "boc" transmission from Pioneer 10 was January 22/23. Is this a sign of the release date for a new album next year? and possible last "boc" transmission......
Re: Pioneer 10 plaque, last transmission?
That is fantastic idea. Considering boc history and the whole Pioneer 10 plaque idea. The last transmission before going out in to that cold space forever.

Re: Pioneer 10 plaque, last transmission?
January 22 is a Friday... so...
I mean, I know releases can happen any day of the week now but they typically happen on Friday's. So, maybe?

It's a satellite, BoC uploaded their own personalised version of this plaque to their Hell Interface youtube not too long ago.
Also... I LOVE this theory !

Btw while I was reading about it on wikipedia, I noticed the height and the width of the original plaque:
6 by 9 inches

Also I thought it would be interesting to tie in Societas X Tape into this theory: Cement, Gravel, and Rock Co. does appear to have been a SoCal band that played at Disneyland - the Long Beach Independent has them performing there daily in mid 1973
1972-1973 was around the time the Pioneer 10 and 11 launched.
Also Cement, Gravel and Rock Co. perform in Tomorrowland Villa, sort of a celebration of the space age and those world fairs.
Are these all coincidences? Who knows. Just some food for thought while we wait for another transmission.

6x9, too good
Re: Pioneer 10 plaque, last transmission?
One last tidbit that would lend to Jan 22nd being a release date for BOC. Warp seem to generally release big/semi big albums in January to start off the year.
Squarepusher, Nightmares On Wax, Brian Eno, Aphex Twin and Bibio all had releases in January

I've never known Aphex Twin or Bibio to drop an album in January. Aphex's CCAI EP came out Jan '15 but that's the only release springing to mind?Echelon wrote:One last tidbit that would lend to Jan 22nd being a release date for BOC. I think Warp typically release stuff as and when - there's no pre-defined pattern. I mean, they recently dropped two Autechre albums and an OPN album all within the space of two weeks, arguably their biggest releases of the year. I'm sure most labels would've staggered those across a longer period of time.
Re: Pioneer 10 plaque, last transmission?
Bibio dropped that Green EP and Aphex with the Computer Controlled Acoustic Instrumentals EP. But yeah, I shouldn't read too much into the "tea leaves" since they're wrong a good majority of the time.Sherbet Head wrote:I've never known Aphex Twin or Bibio to drop an album in January. I think this year definitely demonstrates that Warp are going to release whatever they want, whenever they want.
