I know that the title of the thread sounds like clickbait, but that's not my intention (that's why I added the parenthesis). I stumbled upon a folder on Soulseek called "A Few Old Tunes, Vol. 3" and it's actually Random 35 Tracks Tape, as it was obvious in the title but the difference between this rip and the widely circulating one is way lower quality. It consists of 28 tracks because some tracks are two in one (e.g. B04 and B05), unfortunately, the tracks B08 & A04 are missing from this rip.
Some of the technical details are:
- The encoding software is iTunes v4.7.1.30, which was released between late 2004 - early 2005 that also coincide with the time period when R35TT was leaked on Soulseek.
- It was encoded at 192kbps MP3 but I doubt it due to low quality, I think it's a re-encode from a lower quality source (I pressume RealAudio).
- Tracks such as The Smallest Weird Number and Davie Addison have an artifact that resembles disc rot, it sounds just like this (
- It's slightly sped up and it has more wow & flutter (the best example that I can give is A14).

Did anyone stumbled upon this particular rip before? How did it originate?
Another rip of Random 35 Tracks Tape? (don't get surprised)

You’re always on a war with yourself, you’re just used to it.
