NPR Story re: 2006 Red Moon party saga
Hey all, saying hi from NPR Music in the States. With Inferno coming up, I'm working on a story looking back at the 2006 Red Moon party saga.
I'd love to chat with anyone who went to the gathering in the Pentland Hills, or who helped try to decipher the code. You can send me a DM here, or try my email ncaldwell@npr.org, or my cell +1 (802) 999-8794. Thanks!

Very cool! I always think about the 2006 Red Moon conundrum every once in a while. It sure was entertaining following along with it on the forum here as it was happening. I think it may have been what drove me to finally register an account!
I actually just did a big re-read of the Bocpages entry for it last week and spent wayyy too long diving into old forum posts. Looking forward to the article!

The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

That was quite the nerdy adventure.

Good luck with your article--I look forward to reading it! I've always enjoyed NPR's music coverage (as well as the music bumps during NPR news segments!).

Awesome! Thank you!egbdf wrote:Here it is https://www.npr.org/2026/05/30/nx-s1-58 ... moon-party
I kinda think of Red Moon Party as their first ARG. Was fun watching everyone go nutso here over it but I didn't really participate in cracking the code, so to speak.

Thanks Noah for pursuing this, and for the thoughtful interviews!
I'm looking forward to the upcoming digital article on NPR next week as well.
(It was also great to hear dj_todos voice again after so long!)
