you won't believe me either.

Post by dealer »

posted this on watmm...

I've mentioned on here before that one of my good friends is a direct relative of the boards of canada, and as it turns out I'll be moving closer to that person very soon, around the end of the month. right now we live pretty far. I'm not sure when I'll see that person, but when they come to visit I'm going to ask them to bring all the old casettes and family-only releases so I can get good copies and all that. I'm not sure I'll be able to upload them or anything, but it'll hopefully clear up a lot of the bad information that some of the kids around here like to spread.

I don't expect a single person here to believe me, but I'll be taking a few photos of the old releases that you won't have ever seen before (e.g., me holding one) to qualify my claims here. I'm just really excited about it and I don't know anywhere else to say anything.

one thing I could do is after listening to the unreleased stuff, if it's already circulating I can at least tell you which are real.

anyhow. the time is near.

a.

Mh, it's possible I guess.

I mean, it's not as if we need to get excited and start a big hype like Archrival did ;> If it doesn't come, then nothing we didn't expect happened. If it does then huzzah?

It's not impossible that he blabla relatives bla but I doubt BoC would let him get his hands on copies of Old Tunes or whatever they're supposed to have secretly released...

"when they come to visit I'm going to ask them to bring all the old casettes" etc. Well if you haven't asked them yet and thay haven't said yes then you can hardly promise to do this can you?

Well, it'll be nice to see but I'm not doubting much if any o eth stuff I have marked as real. If it's bull then we've lost nothing. I suggest we forget about his post and be pleasantly surprised if the goods turn up.

Everyone on this boards so damn pessimistic...Iguess it comes with the territory. I guess I'm the only one looking forward to how this turns out..

Heres something i considered about "old tunes vol1" being a collection of tracks
from the early ep's etc..
Isnt it strange they have no titles..? or is it..?
If you were one of the privileged few who had possession of them would you give them all
the correct names and have them lying around on your hard drive or even your mp3 player?
That would be dangerous right..?
Instead you would call them all something else to be safe.. Maybe cut some of them short.
Thats probably what somebody did.. and eventually thats what leaked..
We just dont know which fucking track is which.. ha ha

I hope DEALER sheds some light on all this.. hurry up and move to scotland.

Or someone found a tape of it from someone without the case, no art, no names, just marked Old Tunes Vol 1.

If I recall correctly, that is what happened. Wasn't there a picture on WATMM of all 3 of the tapes (and BOC Maxima) but one of them was missing a case with an insert?

Anyway it is still possible that these tracks were kept nameless deliberatetly.
There is something about OTV1.. These tracks have more of a BoC feel than any of the others..
All i am saying is that IF.. (and maybe it is a big IF) these are the actual tracks from acid memories etc..
then it would be likely they would be given no names.
If it was your tape you wouldnt have them as DUFFY, GROWING HAND, PETINA would you..?
At least not on display.
Maybe the insert was missing on purpose..?

I would like to see that photo of the tapes.. any ideas where it might be.?

I'm pretty sure that if I had Acid Memories or whatever and I was going to leak it, I would just put it online anonymously without editing it. It's not like that would somehow protect my identity or change BoC's opinion on it being leaked. (Would they be mad about it, anyway?) I don't see what would be the point of changing the track names, or especially of going through the trouble of changing the track lengths? I'm sorry, but this sounds like conspiracy Image BS.

Ask Fredd-E. He's a WATMM regular. He might know where that picture is at.

What if you had Acid Memories or whatever and you DIDNT want to leak it..?
If you had them stored as mp3's wouldnt you consider filing them without names..?
If you had them on a tape would you consider NOT having an insert with all the names on it..?
Maybe somebody did that but somehow they eventually did leak (possibly got into the wrong hands)
There was talk of some tapes being stolen. Whoever stole them would be clueless anyway..
That was until i came along with my weird and wonderful conspiracies.. ha ha

Umm. Not really. If I had them and didn't want anyone else to have them, I'd put them in my "do not share" folder so nobody could get them. No sense renaming and, especially, editing (keep in mind that the track lengths and orders do not match!) them if I wasn't sharing the files, and I figure that anyone who's tech-savvy enough to stretch or cut up a song would also be tech-savvy enough to just, you know, not share the files, thus saving a lot of effort and allowing them to listen to the unedited version of the album. :|

Yeah ok.. fair point if we are just talking about cd's and mp3's..
But what if you were in safe possession of an OTV1 tape which you knew
was actually a compilation of tracks from Acid Memories etc..?
Would you not keep the titles to yourself..?
