BoC in 5.1

Come on chaps, lets have an album mixed in 5.1 please. Reading the vinyl/cd post and people talking about listening outdoors etc and how it adds to the feeling/listening experience made me think that we need a release done in 5.1 surround.
Im 100% sure these boys would use this technique with devastating effect. It would really add so much more to the listening experience. Even if they re-mixed past albums in 5.1 would be awesome. The thought of hearing the woman counting in 'Aquarius' from different points in the room, or sweeping pads and effects rushing around your head seems to good for them not to do it!!! I mean, BoC sound amazing with a good pair of headphones on as you get a better,clearer idea of panning and individual levels etc. God knows what surround would be like!

Richie Hawtin has jus released an album hes done in 5.1 and it sounds amazing. It also comes with a dvd as most people have surround on their tv's. This includes the mix accompanied with visuals and also interviews with Hawtin about the process's he used in the construction of the album. This is similar to another album that was released a while back by Jean Michel Jarre. Its deffinately the way forward with home cinema systems being more common place. Aside from that there are great sound systems catering for 5.1.

It's a great idea although I don't think BoC will do such a thing.

Why don't you send them a letter?

I could see them doing something in 5.1. No way can I see them doing the interview side of things. No trade secrets given away. ha ha.
Would be lovely to get a dvd of visuals though wouldnt it and the soundtrack all in 5.1.

I think that BOC have thought about that already, but as an esoteric duo, i don't think they will do it, i like there music as it is. But that's me... :roll:

check out this cd by Tipper.

amazing and also 5.1 surround sound. but is sounds just as lovely on your regular 2.1 soundsystem.

snares did a gig in 12.1 in the amsterdam paradiso before. i'm not a huge snares fan, but it would have been an intriguing experience to have his beatfuckery coming at you from twelve directions. and the panning possibilities with that system would be droolsome too.

If you havent heard Richie Hawtins transitions yet BUY it. It is an amazing album. Ive not heard techno this good for ages. You wont be dissapointed.

Great shout! Tipper's surrounded is one of my favourite albums. Been listening to it loads recently. Favourite track is Tear Strips Off. Highly recommended.

I really dig this album, but it isn't surround sound is it?

Btw, this album is heavily inspired by Speedy J's - Loudboxer if you ask me. So be sure to check it out if you haven't heard this one!

Idd a great Techno album, i'm listening atm, one of my favourite albums from him:Plastikman_Artifacts 1998, but that's more adm. :wink:

There are other sons of Detroit that even today stay amazing, check also Richie Hawtin's other albums, don't forget he's a busy musician for over 10 years. :wink:

ive got a live bootleg tape somewhere of a live set of fuse back in 1994. i also have xmix3, fuckin trippy (better when it came out). i find i apprieciate him more now that my music taste has matured a little. when i was 15-18 i was into FSOL and pressure of speech but i also listened to gabba and hardcore so...
