just wondering what everybody else on here is using to actually make music. one of the main things that attracted me to boards of canada in the first place was how analog their electronic music sounds.

i'm rebuilding after deciding to quit music, and thus:
marshall plexi face mkii 100 watt super lead amplifier.
fender bassman 60 silver face amplifier.
marshall 1960 angle face 4 x 12 speaker cabinet.
hondo II professional les paul custom -- lawsuit era.
akai 1/2 inch reel to reel 2 track tape recorder.
total sonic annihilation effect by death by audio.
casio sk-1
metal muff -- electro harmonix
mxr distortion +
roland alpha juno 1
reason plus reason drums 2.0
m-audio axiom 25
shure sm58
ableton live 5

I dont have that much analog stuff, just everything I need:

Roland JS-30 (Sampler)
Evolution MK-125 (Midi controller)
Casio CTK-531 (Peice of shit keyboard)
A broken tape-deck (for extra effect, or just plain fun)
Pentium 4, 2.40 GHz,768 MB

As for software:

Steinberg Cubase SX3 (we all know this one)
Sound-club (cheesy MIDI writer from the 80's, complete with awesome drumkits)
Babya Logic Pro (Hilariously bad, but lets you write your own soundwaves)
T-RackS 24 (thank you Aesthetics)

and over 50 VST plugins....can't get enough of them.
Throw away your smartphone.

I have a casio cz-1000, I don't think it's that shitty... though my perception might be coloured by the fact I didn't pay for it...

I also use my mum's old piano, a clarinet, a guitar, various cheapo bongos and stuff, sometimes my friend's marimba, Ableton Live and an Emu Xboard midi controller, a big reel-to-reel I found outside the auction house, whatever tape decks I can get my hands on, and a bontempi 9 fan-powered chord organ. Out of those I only paid for the guitar and the xboard... which is lucky cos I'm shite :P

I use to have a cz 101, i sold and i really miss it now. The czs have a very unique sound that annoys alot of people. Listen to the "Me and you and everyone we know" soundtrack, I think a cz 1000 was used heavily in that and it works very well.

Right now I'm using a 90s Fender Telecaster american, a shitty epi acoustic guitar, Ableton Live 6 Le on an HP with Vista/intel Viiv/3 gigs/320gb hd

I had been using Audacity (all the work I ever released just used that) but now I'm trying to figure out Ableton...This first day is rough. I really like how you can midi map on your computer keyboard though :) (especially cause i have no hardware synths due to my poorness).
