Very BoC alike fragment from the movie Kids (1995)

Post by Fredd-E »

I've recently watched Kids (1995) again and it brought back some memories. It's a real nice movie.

But then all of a sudden at almost the end of the movie there's a 1 minute fragment with video and sound very very very boc alike. The track you'll be hearing in my youtube rip of this fragment is: "The Folk Implosion - raise the bells (2:24)" as stated on the original soundtrack cd.

Watch it: youtube

Anyone else noticed this before?! who inspired who?!

PS: A cool hip hop song in this movie is the following: Lo-Down - mad fright night. Also featured on the OST.

This'll show up on the next faek album I'm sure.

Haven't seen the movie. Will try to find it soon. I'm gone to the hospital on Monday, don't know when I'll be back. So I gotta get my media fix before then. I aim to make it great stuff like this. Thanks for the find Fredd-E :)

Yo, I definitely agree..I've been listening to that song for a while, and I thought the same thing. I haven't seen the movie before but I want to..the Folk Implosion make some awesome tunes. That entire soundtrack is pretty hep actually.... 8)
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

A small warning is needed to people going to watch this movie after seen the youtube fragment, because the fragment is totally unalike the movie itself. So be warned. One could even say that this short boccy fragment doesn't even belong in this movie... it just pops in the movie at random so to say.

But just go and watch this movie, you won't regret it. It's about a bunch of kids smoking weed, hanging on the streets and having lots of sex. They couldn't care less about all the consequences. Controversial movie!

PS: Don't forget to watch/listen this: Lo Down - mad fright night. It's also featured on this movie. Little is known about Lo Down but it's one hell of a hip hop song. Original vinyl released in 1994.

This brings me back to my roots. Hip hop stylee all up ins!

Word. Don't you also think one of these mc's sounds a hell of a lot like Ol' Dirty Bastard (rip) from Wu-Tang Clan?!

At first I thought he was part of Low Down but I don't think he is... but still I hear typical ODB vocal trickery in this track and also the nasal like voice is very alike...

That is pretty BoC innit! I only watched the film once, I found it pretty depressing tbh.

Oh wait.. I'm pretty sure that IS ODB on the verse. I have no remix either.. thought I did, but that was an old Nas song.

Well yes it just has to be, but I looked at the end rolling credits of the movie and every track used is displayed in detail who produced it and who edited it etcetera.. but I don't see a ODB reference. I'm also looking on the internets to find a reference that ODB participated in this track but I don't find anything... have you found something relevant?
