Street Fighter IV

Post by The Other »

the best fighting game ever made. i am huge SF II fan...this one is even better IMO.
if you have played SF before this will feel like an old friend. there are new focus attacks that add a whole new level to linking combos. plus there are a handful of new characters..all of which feel very polished and fit right in with the roster. HIGHLY recommend.

I must find a way to play it. At the moment I am restricted to my copy of Super Street Fighter II on SNES..though tbh that's nothing to complain about

I swear my version is buggy! The arcade mode difficulty varies horrendously, and some of the characters use the same move constantly to beat you, even on the easiest mode! There's not much of a story to the arcade mode either, definitely a multiplayer game this it seems to me. Still, the fighting itself is good and nicely reminiscent of Street Fighter 2.

crazy. I havent come across any of that. I do remeber one time while playing against Abel, he kept spamming the same throw over and over again. Other than that...no problems...sorry to hear that...

i've been having a blast with it for about three days nows. i've only had multiplayer lag problems as of tonight, but as far as i'm concerned the hype is justified. i've got the ps3 version. that's also an invite for duels. pm me for user name so forth.

does anyone know where to buy a retail price se fight stick now?

last time i actually played this was in july, last summer at the arcade. its quite good that they had an arcade memory card you could use for it.

only played it twice, i'm too obsessed with initial d and shmups to play much else. also, in japan, the cabinets are designed that a single player sits at each machine, and your opponent is sat at the back of your machine on another one. so you can never see who your opponent is or stop them from joining in (and in japan, most likely kicking your ass!).

I got it yesterday. Jeeezus, it's HARD.

The difficulty was obviously made for the folks who never stopped playing the old Street Fighter games, because it took me 5 hours to beat arcade mode on EASY. This never happened to me with Tekken or Soul Calibur.

But I am getting better! Ever so slowly.
I just hate that they added the revenge gauge. That thing has resulted in many cheap victories for my enemy. Kinda lessens the value of having skill when the other guy only has to pull off one move to even the fight, or just beat you.

i admire that arcades are still a huge part of life in japan. wish it was that way in the states. you would be hard pressed to find an arcade here...

disagree.

what the revenge gauge does is even the playing field so that scrubs can still hand it to a seasoned veteran. you can always just block it, or if they are playing as that shithead akuma jump over them. give it a day or two. i'll admit i kind of worked on my chops with hd remix, but the controls for IV are so much more fluid the moves are much easier to pull off. i haven't really played street fighter before hd remix in literally maybe a decade. after practicing with sakura for a day or two i've been laying major waste to some people, but the real seasoned veterans are still wearing my ass for a hat.

seth will still kick your ass on easy, and possibly also on very easy. he's that cheap.
