88 Marquis - 1992 In An Igloo & Remixed out now!

1992 In An Igloo is the debut release from Wisconsin originate Peter De Sanctis. As the title hints, this record is the perfect accompaniment to the up and coming winter months with glistening soundscapes and shimmering percussion. Delicately crafted ambient pieces settle in perfectly, piecing everything together to take the listener on a hypnotic journey, possibly sat atop a lighthouse, watching over the glaciers as they reflect in the moonlight.

If that wasn't enough, we've also been provided with 1992 In An Igloo Remixed, featuring Boreal Network, Trills, Phasen, Treefingers, Five Step Path, Xurba and Brand New Retro who all contribute wonderful and varied takes on the record.

Been anxious to hear this. I'll give the whole thing a proper listen with headphones tonight. These remixes sound great...The Phasen remix fits the artwork perfectly!

I totally recommend this album. Pete's tunes are uniquely his own sound and he's starting off with a solid debut. Joe's artwork is great in general but this particular example is even better than usual, it fits the sound and emotion of the record so well. Then you have the remix album. No reason not to check this out. I'm gonna pimp it like it's my biggest fattest ho.

yeah these albums are just amazing. i've already played them countless times. 92 in an igloo is probably one of the best things ive heard all year. thanks for the compliments on the artwork! they were really fun to work on. thanks pete for letting me do this!

I just listened through and this is great! I really dig the way that place your beats/percussion in the stereo field to have not only width but varied depth as well.

That transition from Polaris to Namekagon is awesome.

Yeah these remixes are something, it screams twoism and I love it! The track order might be a bit different from the one I gave you at your place, just made a few changes in the order. Thanks dude, I recently found out from a friend of mine that St. Elsewhere is the title of a Gnarles Barkley (spelling..) album I guess, but there is no connection I can guarantee you haha.

Recording St. Elsewhere was one of the most fucked up experiences I've ever had while making tunes, it took me all night trapped in my bedroom during a snowstorm to do this one. I was definitely under the influence, and it just came to me from somewhere unknown. Glad you dig it man!

Yeah I love building percussion, and definitely love making use of left and right channels. Glad you like that transition, I laugh everytime and I don't really know why - I was going to have it fade out but after listening to the two tracks in order it just made sense to me.

It definitely is, and I'm not afraid to admit - Boards of Canada changed everything for me. 1992 in an igloo was originally a track name, and this track isn't actually on the EP - I plan to remake it and put it on Arctic Hush this winter, not sure what I'll call it. Thanks for taking the time to listen man - Just so you know I've listened to your latest release a few times, excellent work my friend! Sun Wax is still one of my favorite tracks to this day.
