BoC Video to be on MTV2

Here's the link. Looks like the unthinkable is really happening, though this is on MTV UK, so maybe they have their own version of 120 Minutes that differs from the US version...

Well, I guess the inevitable has happened, but I'm not as pissed as I thought I'd be. MTV2 and MTV are two totally different beasts. I have no problem seeing their vid on MTV2 alongside the likes of Radiohead, The Mars Volta, Aphex Twin, etc... But the day I see their video wedged inbetween Ludacris and 50 Cent on TRL we're gonna have some problems.

That's excellent news - there's even a link to it from the main MTV front page. I don't understand how anybody can be pissed off about BoC getting a bit of well-deserved recognition.

I don't know about this. From what I've read/heard, the MTV2 in Europe and the MTV2 in the US are rather different. Over the past couple of years, the US version of MTV2 has quickly morphed back into MTV, so I still feel that it's rather unlikely we'll see it here.

I think you're right. I don't even see 120 Minutes even being on the air anymore in the US.

I remember the days when M2 (MTV2) played video's 24/7 with only commercials promoting M2 itself. And they played all sorts of underground and alternative bands, not just the Billboard Top 20 stuff. I'm afraid it'll be a cold day in hell before they return to that format.

there is a show called Subterranean
it's on at odd times on Sunday night (if at all)
they play videos that are a little better than usual.

i liked M2...the playlist seemed to be completely random. it was great! sigh.

I agree. BoC deserves to get the attention it deserves.BUT...I don`t like the thought of people listen to it becouse everyone else thinks its cool.Like that commercial hip-hop, some people don`t like that...but becouse everyone else "digs" it...they start to like it 2.

I hate it when people don`t listen to music the way there made for.A lot of people don`t understand music...like we do.

I remember seeing lots of warp acts on MTV or MTV2 like Plastikman, Autechre, Aphex, Squarepusher etc. so i'm not really surprised by this. And i wouldn't mind seeing them get a bit more popularity and recognition. It would increase the pressure on them to release stuff more often, which can only be a good thing!

Wow, Why? Thats lame, but it is the UK channel, so thats ok. If it was on the stupid U.S. channel, I would kill someone, cause MTV 2 sucks FAT ASS over here in the States!

yes subterranean is good...even for MTV...i could see it ending up on that...they even do band interviews...i dont know if boards would go on there are not...doubt it...

Boc on mtv ,eh....I dont like the idea. I dont want the BoC scene to blow up anymore than it has, If that happened the music wouldnt feel as personal to me. Call me a jackass but I go out of my way to not to speak of them to anybody but my close friends. "Our friends and families hear all the music we write, and that's all that matters really."And now a video. From what ive read the Uk mtv2 doesnt seem half as bad, but im still against the video. Feels to corporate.
