Anybody into Telepopmusik? "Genetic World" was my introduction to all things Electronic music and a good intro at that! Downtempo, Ambient, Deep House, Electro, nu-jazz all mixed into one great record.
Their third album is set to drop this year. The lead single "Ghost Girl" was released two years ago, but I think they've had some problems with their record label. From their myspace, it looks like they're completely independent now.
Genetic World is the album that guides me into the electronic world. Each track is different from another.
And the sample "When I retire from the lab, I wish I could be a composer." is my favorite sample cause I'm currenly working in a molecular biology lab and I REALLY WISH I COULD BE A COMPOSER!
weird... i was going through my cd collection that i recently unboxed after about 3 years and saw this cd... it was my wife's though, i don't remember buying it.
love Telepopmusik. been waiting for their next album for quite some time. favourite tracks are 'Breathe', 'Smile', 'Don't Look Back (John Tejada Remix)' and 'Last Train to Wherever'. : )

Breathe is 1 of the most beautiful tracks ever made.
Breathe was overplayed but certainly deserved all the attention it got. It's really simple in most respects but the subtle shifts of sound and the vocal treatment are excellent. I've tried to figure out how they got that vocal effect as well as the vocal in Royksopp's Sparks.
