This thread is meant for all general discussion about anything BoC related.

If you feel the need to ask a question, or post anything really, that is not very "big" enough of a discussion that needs it's own thread, post it on this thread.

This thread will only work effectively if it is made a sticky, so therefor, I am requesting it to be sticked! It will clean up the forum a lot if it is used accordingly.

I do have sort of a BoC-noob question that isn't worth making a thread about. So I guess I'll post it here.

There's Aquarius, and Aquarius (Version 3)....Where's version 2?!?!

I THINK that's the version on the Aquarius 7" vinyl, but I'm not sure.

Version 1 is Vinyl, Version 2 is MHTRTC, Version 3 is Peel Session

I do belive that the bass line in the vinyl version came directly from the Hair SoundTrack where as it was actualy played by one of the brothers for the MHTRTC version. To my ears one of the bass notes in Version 1 sounds a little out of tune and it has been corrected by version 2.

The numbers are different:

On Music Has the Right to Children: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 44, 68, 27, 35, 42, 58, 47, 63, 85, 74, 67, 66, 51, 79, 42, 24, 45, sixty-ten, 6, 7, 56, 65, 44, 53, 44, 17, 13, 23"

On the Aquarius release, the sequence ends with "...42, 24, 45, sixty-ten, 6, 7, 56, 65, 44, 53, 44, 67, 42, 55, 86, 20".

my smokes quantity on twoism and my smokes quantity on MHTRTC sound.. different
like, twoism's sounds more.. grainy and like it's almost in a cave

Okay, because of a laptop breaking and having to get a new one, I've been trying to recover my BoC library on my new laptop.

I download a group of tracks that are Remixes BoC have done, and all of them seem alright, except Midas Touch isn't the remix on youtube or anything.

It's this track that doesn't even sound at all like the original, has a bunch of vocoder lines in it, and it sounds very out of character for BoC.

Any of you know what this might be? I think it's just a mistake. But do any of you guys have more insight?

I don't know but something is compelling me to think that Marc does most of the electronic mixing and stuff like that, and Mike is in charge of recording/playing live...

I was surprised when I first read that, as their music compositionally seems more about harmony, timbre and chord progressions, rather than melody.

But eh, it seems like they do put a lot of effort into their shorter tracks as well, and those are more melodic. Like Bocuma, The Smallest Weird Number, etc.

we arent very close, im on the philly side of the state..
