Anyone like them?
I do, but I'm certainly not extremely familiar with them.
I like the jungley sounding phase, like Invisible Touch (the album), and by extention I like Phil Collins' solo stuff (I like Peter Gabriel too). That music is really mainstream for my usual tastes but I actually really like it. Call it a weakness.

My dads a HUGE fan, and we'd listen to it together when I was a child. The song Mama is what originally made me want a synthesizer. I like some of there stuff though. Phil Collins is a boss.

I love Genesis. My mother played them all the time when I was a little kid. Come to think of it, she still does here and there. Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins' solo stuff is brilliant too. And yeah, they have awesome synths in their stuff. They're definitely an influence for me.

Listen to Trick of the Tail 20 times, then listen to Duke 20 times.
Though no Peter Gabriel on those releases, that is some awesome stuff.

The music paints a story. Not much does that anymore.

Peter Gabriel gave Genesis more of an edge, but it was a little too deep, theatrical [From Genesis to Revelation]. Definitely deeper than Phil Collins. And on his own he's incredible. The guy is a genius and opens himself up to his music in such a revealing way.

Digging in the Dirt, Don't Give up, Sledge Hammer...he lays his life out there.

Love em. Both the Gabriel era and the Collins era had their moments and they both brought a lot of talent to the table. Great solo artists as well.

"Snowbound" is my unofficial Crimbo tune that no one's heard of.
Enthral the kids this festive season with a story of a man frozen overnight in the snow. Death from sub-zero temperatures is fun for all the family.
Not to mention "Say it's alright Joe" what a collins-era masterpiece. Hardly gets a mention.

It's nice to see someone supporting the most forgotten about Genesis album. Snowbound is a beautiful and wistful art rock ballad that I could have sworn might have influenced Radiohead ballad The Tourist with it's "Hey man slow down" chorus.

Burning Rope possesses an extremely wonderful chorus that matches the beauty of Snowbound.

And honestly, I even dig Follow You Follow Me. Listen to that analog synth solo from Tony and tell me its not beautiful.

Definitely a sleeper album but I'm biased since they were my first favorite band.

For me it would be The Lamb for Peter, and Abacab for Phil. I have recently rediscovered Abacab, and I think there is a possibility of it overtaking some of the late 70s output, will it top Trick of the Tail? That is the question. Really loving No Reply At All and Dodo/Lurker.

Avoid like the plague!!! Overly long zealous pop-rock! And it's usually in the bargain bin, $5 is a bit of a rip off cuz it's sold so many copies. I do like it but I call it a last gasp for Genesis.
