i LOVE Duster!

I discovered them through the track "Capsule Losing Contact", which became an instant favorite of mine after being played on last.fm radio.

Their music always reminded me of sitting in a big, empty, lonely Victorian house in some distant metropolis during a rainy day. But then again, much of my favorite music conjures images like that.

I remember reading this a while back. I never really saw the American Analog Set as "slowcore" though. Which, then again, I'm not really sure if that name is credited as an actual genre, but either way, I really like the music that falls in that category. There was this other band I found through Pandora a while back. You might like it. It reminds me a bit of Low mixed with Explosions in the Sky.

Going back to the subject of Duster: have you heard Echo, Bravo? That's another of my favorites from them. Stratosphere, the title track from their 1998 debut album, is also brilliant.

Again, I REALLY need to purchase Contamporary Movement. For that matter, I REALLY need to purchase their entire discography. I wonder if any of their material was released on cassette? It seems like their music would work quite well with the whole lo-fi tape hiss thing.

Well, the Static Cult label's website sold new copies a while back, but I just checked now and apparently they don't sell them anymore. They only sell Apex, Trance-Like (which I don't really like).

I don't think there was ever Duster cassettes. I know there are CDs, but I don't really like listening to CDs. I'm no elitist to vinyl or anything, but I feel like it's the equivalent of running a stereo out from my laptop to a speaker system. But with all that being said, I really like all the releases except for Apex, Trance-Like. Do you like Helvetia?

Oh wow, this is a Duster gold mine. I just wish those tracks actually worked...

Honestly, I don't really see the point in making Duster cassettes. Cassetes are inconvenient I think. I only use them in the process of stemming and recording.

They are somewhat inconvenient, I suppose, but I'm O.K. with that. Don't think I am anti-digital, though - my laptop's Music folder contains 78.9 GB of files (most of which is material which I have downloaded from Bandcamp and various netlabels).

It was sent to me once by a youtube member named godstomper, burned on a
dvd. I inherited the label and during the time I merged my old label with
TSCL it was never available, so maybe you are like and old school fan. I
think it was some dude just on youtube that if you look up will totally
send you a copy. I think that clip is the main duster footage in the entire
thing. The rest is maybe California bands I don't know anything about.

Haha, that whole "anti-digital" mindset is kind of limiting. I mean, the internet is the best way to share music nowadays. No one's going to accept cassette demos anymore. I won't worry about it until they create home vinyl pressing machines.
