right. it's all pretty much labels now. liberal, conservative, democrat, republican, etc..

most of the founding fathers were against political parties, anyway

I mean I'm going to definitely take a firm stance on specific issues, however I don't think you could blanket all of my views within a particular party.

i agree.

the fact that congress is now a career instead of a.. one-time thing kinda screws things up too.

rather than do things for the greater good, they just do whatever will get them re-elected (or at least.. not run out of office)

example: things like welfare and unfunded liabilities like social security need to be cut back a good deal. but, if you are a congressman or woman and your district is mainly an inner-city sort of thing, due to the nature of the inner-city (seeing as that's where MOST of the voter base probably lives, as the population density will be very high), welfare is going to be the LAST thing you want to cut.

so, regardless of the fact that it'd be for the best to start to cut back things like welfare, if you want to keep your job..

It is this mentality that I personally believe will disintegrate our country's constitution and infrastructure, far quicker than terrorism ever could. This country will ultimately self consume itself, sadly. Perhaps it would in turn give birth to a better country or way of life. Who knows. However I forsee very dark days ahead of america in the near future, mark my words.

Edit: Sorry, I don't want to sound depressing. I don't think it will be dark forever, but it's ignorant to think that things will continue to just work the way they have been. Something will give way.

Yeah, they didn't have to worry much about that because the majority of them were all part of the same fraternal order...

IMO:

The leaders of this world are corrupt money hungry criminals and will tell us lie after lie to get what they want and 90% of the world eats the steaming pile of shit they spew and ask for seconds. Do you really think your government is working in your best interest?

"I need you to lie about this.."

"But I can't. It's wrong to lie..."

"How about a $2 Million Bonus..."

"Ok!"

I know I sound like a nut job, but I do believe The Federal Reserve is the root of it all. It's all about money.

Also, the leader of the country should never be treated like a celebrity. Obama was treated like a rockstar when he won.

I doubt it's as straight forward as that, not very often at least. What the other guys hinted at is more accurate. Politicians aligning their interests with whoever will keep them in office. Sure they may go in with honest intentions but when their job security is at stake they fall in line with the rest of the tools.

Another HUGE problem is citizens being apathetic or content.

It's pissing me off how much the media here in the states is glorifying and celebrating this guys death. It is disgusting.
We also shouldn't be glorifying it for our own benefit as we already look like immoral bastards to them, now we look like monsters. I honestly won't be surprised if we get bombed again.

This is from a post I made yesterday for a project I'm working on:
You know what? Everyone has said their piece on it and I don't want to waste your time by adding to the noise, BUT I will say this:

The celebrations? The groups of people getting together to celebrate the death of another human being? The President of the United States of America calling the death of another human being "a good day for America"? This is why I have no respect for this species, and this is why the human race has no future.

And do you want to know the fucking INCREDIBLE thing about this situation? If I thought that 9/11 was a great day for the world and I went out on nation television and stated that, then I would be the bad guy!

It's official: I'm done with this planet's bullshit. I'm going to sit back and watch the world burn, so you guys have fun, just please, leave me out of it.
I stand by my final comment. If anyone has the balls to attempt to fix this mess (and I mean genuinely fix it, not just sweep it under the carpet) then they have my respect, but honestly, we just should just start again from scratch.

Really... Beautiful and true. If only we could learn how to use these ideas as a species.
