They all fall down.mechanismj wrote:So which insane dictator is next on the list? Gotta spread that freedom and democracy!
Down. Fall.

Yup! You said it! His country was particularly rich and he wanted it to be sovereign. The international banks were having none of that! I'll give Gaddafi some cred for that. It's a pity that the world doesn't work that way though.hexagon son wrote:I think some people need to look into who Gaddafi really was and what he did for the people in Libya. He was executed by the western powers because he wanted to introduce a new currency in exchange for oil....
The kind of terrorist organisations who set off car bombs in public areas in one of the biggest cities in the UK, or who made life hell for thousands of people in Northern Ireland for decades.hexagon son wrote:fujee wrote: He did supply terrorist organisations with weapons though.

For sure. It just goes to show there are two sides to every story. More accurately, there is a good/ bad side to every story.A_Northern_Soul wrote:The kind of terrorist organisations who set off car bombs in public areas in one of the biggest cities in the UK, or who made life hell for thousands of people in Northern Ireland for decades.hexagon son wrote:fujee wrote: He did supply terrorist organisations with weapons though.

Can we stop putting this scumbag on a pedestal simply because he defied the US or Illuminati or New World Order or what ever sort of conspiratorial nonsense you care to make up. He was a very unpleasant person who led a particularly foul regime (disagree? Be thankful that you can - disagreeing with the party line under Gaddafi could mean that you mysteriously "disappear"). He's gone and the people of Libya have a chance to make a real success of their by-all-accounts beautiful country. This should be celebrated.
So are you trying to tell me that the USA has never funded terrorist organisations? My own mother was in a building in Manchester in which an IRA bomb went off. The French, British, American and Soviet regimes have been responsible for far more loss of life than Gaddafi supposedly ever was. All 4 of the above mentioned countries have tortured their own citizens and killed millions more outside of their own country. This is like calling "pot kettle black'.mechanismj wrote:For sure. They're all guilty. It's part of their job to be corrupt and fucking evil.hexagon son wrote:So are you trying to tell me that the USA has never funded terrorist organisations? What difference does it make? No one here is saying those countries/parties are innocent. The fact is Gadaffi was a tyrant.hexagon son wrote:So are you trying to tell me that the USA has never funded terrorist organisations? Nope, your not crazy at all. Just wanted to let people know that these kinds of things have happened and there is video proof. I completely respect that point of view of not wanting to watch atrocious things. Slightly off-topic, but I'm starting to wonder if this "occupy" movement is going to completely backfire on the people with us losing whatever rights we have left...mechanismj wrote:
I have not seen a split second of Gaddafi's death footage. There's something about watching people get tortured and sodomized that doesn't interest me. Call me crazy.
