I did get in touch with John. He seems like a very friendly fellow. He mentioned that godstomper, the YouTube user who uploaded the Duster clip to which I linked earlier, sent him a DVD free-of-charge. I wrote a short note to godstomper and got a reply back to the effect of 'sure, just send me your address.' I did, and so with luck I will be receiving a copy of the compilation soon-ish. Once I do, perhaps I should upload it somewhere for others to enjoy - but first I must gain permission from the person who put it together. For now, I'm just thrilled that I'll be getting a copy one way or another.

Those are cassette labels, though. They produce cassettes (which I guess would make sense for them to accept them) That's what Voyage Lucidity will be for a while is a "cassette" label. Not because they're trendy, but because they're cheap and people will buy them.

Definitely shoot me a .zip of it if you can.

I will without a doubt upload a rip of the DVD once I receive it. I've taught myself a lot about video formats and encoding, and I can easily create a quality digital copy/rip. Viva la doom9.org

I'm not sure: you may or may not have heard of the band CALM. They hailed from San Jose, California and were composed of Clay Parton of Eiafuawn, Dove Amber of Helvetia and "Albert who played drums for Screaming Trees for a while".

They are very good, in my humble opinion.

I discovered two live videos of them, recorded in 1996 while they were playing in the basement of the Cupertino Public Library, on YouTube. Links:

That's a very interesting sound. It sounds kind of sludgy. Much different than the Duster/Helvetia works. This is kind of unrelated, but hearing CALM kind of reminds me of this a little bit.

Yeah, that was Heatmiser's last album. Elliott Smith's solo songwriting career succeeded that of Heatmiser's. Personally, I like his solo work better than I do his Heatmiser work, but a lot of it is really good. It's just a heavier impersonation of his solo work. I don't mind heavier music, though. I used to really like bands like Emmure and Liferuiner.

I'm really looking forward to checking this out. I need more stuff to add to my Duster/Helvetia collection. But yeah, I don't really see why they would ask you to take the file down. I'm sure a lot of file sharing happens on the Twoism forum anyway. You can't expect someone to have rare BoC tracks and not leak them.

That'd be cool if they did! I know there's quite a number of musicians on here who post their work, and if they listened to our stuff, it'd be really neat! It's nice when your biggest influences listen to your music.

On another note, there is some sort of Duster 'rarities' compilation available for download at stereobird:
