One really special moment has to be that little jango at the end of 'Slow This Bird Down'. As soon as the strings start bending, with all those 'glowing' effects on top, it conjurs up real vibes of.... those last 'peak-heat' days of summer, where you're running on little more than vitamin D and serotonin from an awesome day in good company...

0:20 - 0:24 in Sherbet Head. To me it sounds like the voice is saying "Lucy.... Lucy!". My nickname is Lucy and I remember hearing that loud and clear on an evening walk. Startled me and sent shivers down my spine, not knowing it was the song. Stopped and looked around the dark path, only to find out I was by myself. That song still creeps me out to this day (but in a good way).

Also, the "climax" parts in Amo Bishop Roden where the bass thumps and the drums pick up at the same time.

Oh yeah! Definitely my favorite outro of all time.

Also, my favorite moment is the harp solo from Macquarie Ridge. By far the most unexpected thing I have ever heard, even from Boards of Canada. It totally startled me when I first heard it. I'm kind of curious as to whether it's synthetic or an actual instrument, and if so, who played it?

Love that part and that song. My favorite part is the first time you hear the man saying something like "they, they, (repeated several times) this, this, (repeated several times)" in the right channel at 4:07. Although my favorite voice clip overall is the man saying "boarder(ing) Canada".

This interview talks of Mike picking up a Harp second hand. I'm not overly familiar with harp sounds but maybe they played it acoustically and then fucked with the sound after in the studio. Maybe they did just sampled it. Anyway the interview is dated 2002 so that would have been before the recording of Macquarie Ridge I'm guessing. It's definitely a part of the song that struck me.

Twoism: The bit of silence after Seeya Later and the beginning of Melissa Juice combined is one of my favorite parts of any of their albums.

TCH: In Chromakey Dreamcoat, I really love when the claps in the "chorus" skip a beat, or half-beat or whatever. Instead of [*clapclap* beat *clapclap*] you get [*clapclap* beat *clap* beat *clap*]

MHTRTC: I agree with the posts about Telephasic Workshop, right around 3:00 you can start hearing the layered voices come in and my brain always goes crazy at that point. Also in this song, at around 4:15 you get the really punchy fast 8 beats, love that too.

Geogaddi: When I figured out that the whistling noise in a

c at about 0:24 was a dawn chorus the reference blew me away, since one of the next songs is Dawn Chorus .

I really love the chirping birds in Rue the Whirl, especially at the end.

I also love how at the start of Roygbiv, when the bass synth first plays, you can still hear the last notes of Bocuma echoing.

In Aquarius, I'm fond of the way the counting voice speaks the longer numbers, there's a very nice rythm to it - twen-ty-- one, twen-ty-- two. Someone posted about that bit when the voice goes "sixtyten, sixtyseven, fif-ty-- six?". Actually the "sixtyseven" just after "sixtyten" sounds a little bit garbled, doesn't it? The "sixty" is a bit off, as if they had pieced it together from a "six" which somehow interrupts and then a "ty". It sounds like "si-- ty seven".

Also when the beat kicks in in an Eagle in your Mind, definitely.

I like that little sound in Turquoise Hexagon Sun which sounds like hitting a cue ball.

The end of Alpha and Omega, when you don't really know what you are listening to anymore.

And one which I don't exactly like because it sort of disturbs me too much, but which is very remarkable: that bit in Sixtyten when everything stops and you hear this emergency BOOPBOOPBOOPBOOP sawtooth sound.

I still have yet to play it in reverse. I'm still just kind of awe-inspired by it, I don't think I'm even mentally prepared to hear it in it's true form yet haha.

the end of satellite anthem icarus is incredible when played the way it is on the album. but when you reverse it, and hear it the way it was written, its quite incredible. its one of my favorite parts in any of their music.

you really need to hear it in reverse, you owe it to yourself.

Sunshine Recorder, that part when a small piece of voice sample appears and it sounds so off, like it's coming somewhere outside the track, it always scares the shit out of me when I'm wearing headphones.
