60-10 wrote:Look guys im not spouting BS here if you read I said 1000 GBP not dollars 700 GBP would relate to over $1000 for example.... The listing was over $900 at the time, my Geogaddi was bought from Japan and came shrink wrapped official or not what ever and my Kaleidoscope is mint but he wanted both plus CASH ontop so not just the 2 items..... Im in the UK records shipping from US so give me a week for delivery I'll post a photo up of me with the record and some paper with my forum handle 60-10 on.... This was paid for via goods and services so iam insured just to let you know.
It wasn't that I didn't believe you. I am just really confused about the seller and the weird scenario in which he has paid a fortune for something and then instantly sold it on at a huge loss.
Well, it doesn't take much to reproduce/copy vinyl, and technically that cardboard sleeve wouldn't be too hard to reproduce either...

I know, I'm likely just paranoid, the seller's story just feels fishy as it had from the onset. Can't wait for you to get it 60-10 and examine the goods and post pics :) :)

Congrats on the purchase 60-10! Not sure if ripping vinyl is your thing but it would be really cool if you could do a high quality rip for all us BoC nerds to absorb. I want to make the little synth that plays before the code is spoken into a ringtone or something lol
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

It's bizarre what happened to this record.

My opinions:

It's easily worth $5700, and maybe more in future depending whether or not the other 4 turn up. Obsessive vinyl collectors are strange people, and BoC are an important band, not just to us fans but in the history of electronic music as a whole. Personally I could never imagine spending a fraction of that on a record, no matter how rare, no matter how much I loved the band. That doesn't mean that no one ever would. Vinyl collecting is a hobby that fairly well off people are happy to plough tons into. In all honesty I'm a little surprised that the ebay auction didn't go higher.

Also, selling the record doesn't mean you're not a true fan. If you couldn't afford to buy it for $5700, you couldn't afford to not sell it if someone offered you that type of money. Thinking about things in any other way causes divorces. ;) The guy who found it is a student in NYC. I used to be a student in London and it is fucking tough, few people realise just how tough it is to be student level skint in an expensive city.

Thirdly, the fact that someone from here has bought it for less than £1000 GBP is fucking weird. True valuation aside, the idea that someone bought it for $5700 and is now prepared to take a $3000+ haircut to get rid of it a few weeks later is absolutely mental. It's not as if it was a huge secret that 5 other identical copies existed, and other people were bidding $5k+ for it. Bizarre tale.

Wonder what will become of this.

Beyond words, had a friend of mine round the other day who's lived abroad for the last few year and showed him my BoC collection and told him I'd managed to nab the 12", his mind was blown!

Not surprised! You'll have one of the most sought after BoC collections in the world once that arrives! You got the Japanese promo cassettes too? I've been looking for those things EVERYWHERE.

Pretty much the only thing I dont have are the tape, made countless offer to buy them off people, even name your price offers but never been able to twist anyones arm, don't blame them to be honest.

You'd have to be somewhat insane to buy it for that amount of money haha. I mean, seriously.. imagine what you else you could buy with that kind of money? I'd rather buy a vintage guitar or something of the like if I had that money to spare.

But people are free to spend their money they way they want.

So Ladies and Gents, it is here, and I'm proud to announce it's official, receipt and sale sticker from other music still included on the plastic sleeve, vinyl is in near mint condition and sleeve is excellent no real sign of the so called bent/crumpled corner, photo's below with Twoism and 60-10 noted:

EDIT: After my heart stopped going at the speed of light I have now noticed the little crimp on the right hand corner, it's also visible in my first image :)

Yep upon further inspection you can, not as bad as people have made it out though I've seen worse crimps etc in New Records than I have this, as you can imagine this morning when I heard the door go I was like a little kid on Christmas morning so everything was happening at the speed of light haha.

Sorry dude I don't think that will ever happen, money is good right now and I have a large vinyl collection but this is now one of the gems of my collection, going to be fun phoning my insurance company up and explaining this latest addition to them lol.
