Some kind of thank you gift for BoC

I think it's creepy when people try and forge a personal connection with strangers just because they've created something they appreciate a lot. I'm sure there are ways to do it without crossing that line.

Regardless, I just don't think it's something they'd be into. It's treating them like celebrities, which is a role that it seems like they've tried very hard to avoid stepping into. I just feel like they'd rather people were fans of their music instead of fans of them.

It's just a thanks. Not an invite to hop in the sack or an offer to do their laundry for a year. But yeah, was just a thought and all opinions are appreciated.

I agree that BoC are just normal blokes and not pop stars so this sounds a bit out of place. I don't think, however, that it's creepy to "try and forge personal connections" with strangers you admire. Not because I think we should try and get in touch with them - I don't think so at all - but rather because I do not think it is healthy to think of meeting people in terms of "crossing lines", to be honest. It's just common sense really - fan mail is not a "personal connection" and it's not a sensible thing to do, but the implications of talk like "crossing that line", "personal connection with strangers", etc. sound far more creepy to me. Kinda like that Chris Morris thing with the kids locked in drawers.

For me actually I think that since BoC are normal blokes then if you have something to tell them then it should be alright. But I don't think we do, and as for thanking, I can't imagine Picasso thanking Cezanne or Derrick May thanking Kraftwerk - if they inspire you then let's do something with that inspiration, that's great, but thanking seems a bit weird to me. It makes the brothers seem like Jesus Christ or something.

When people do something you appreciate, it's not uncommon to send a thank you card- so not sure why this concept is getting so mangled. As you say, they are regular blokes, so not sure why a small thank you is so out of place. Dare they not be told thank you? That seems to be putting them on some odd platform in itself. Regardless, as mentioned, I'll just stick to album purchases and forum praises.

I think it's a great idea, yeah they aren't pop stars, , they aren't gods or mystical beasts, but gifts are always a pleasant things.

I agree that we shouldn't elevate them, which is, in part, why I disagree with Ciaranarchy. I don't find it creepy, just a bit silly, but yeah, I guess it'd just be something like "your latest album is great congratulations" and you can get far worse things in your mailbox than that.

It's a simple "thank you" note/card/ etc. It's not really that complex, guys. After all, we're all users on a forum called "Twoism". That implies, to some extent, an interest in BoC. It's natural to want to thank folk who have had some form of positive influence in one's life.

Let's send them a warm thank you, nothing intense or abstract.. A simple thank you.
What did they text at the end of the Lake Dolores event? "We love you", how much more simply can you state something? Isn't it possible they would accept a basic thanks without all the drama? lol.
Lets just all print a card with signatures from everyone that wants to sign (or something), get it approved by an admin, and send.

As a few of you know I've been having some tough times as of late but with the help of the new songs I've heard and the kindest of strangers reaching out to make sure I'm alright and I would love to be able to say thanks in some form of fashion.

I've bought the album 3 times so far and I'm sure that's all the boys want, to know that their hard work has paid off but I think it'd be a nice touch to do something.

That's exactly what I was thinking about when I had this idea. Answering to this "we love you", and to everything that happened for the last few months, by a big "thanks".

Anyway, I'm glad this idea pleases to some of you, I was afraid to look like a brainless groupie

I know you all mean well but giving them a gift is just absurd, we are getting into Beiber Babies territory here, just support them like you are, they clearly appreciate their fanbase, I'm sure being a brit around the same age as them that this is a tad strange and embarrassing and very much not BoC.
