Whoa slow down. Which track do you have in mind? I'm very impressed with your discoveries.Mcm L Xix wrote:Okay, after having studied all the audio tracks I established the following:
The track will now be revealed to be a reprise of Magic Window (track 23 of Geogaddi) !!!
- Open a track in the wave editor of your choice.
- Select it entirely (CTRL+A) and put it in the clipboard (CTRL+C)
- Invert its entire waveform (in Audition Effects > Invert)
- Mix the contents of the clipboard into this (In Audition Edit > Mix Paste or CTRL+SHIFT+V)
Guys and don't you think that Jacquard Causeway sounds inverted?
Seems like the entire album is full of easter eggs

For the uninitiated, magic window is a silent track. ref
So yeah, if you do wave cancellation as explained above, you will get full silence.

More like, people think it's full of easter eggs
Just because you can rearrange and layer/reverse things and get something sounding semi-decent, doesn't mean that it was all intentional lol.
Sometimes people just read too much into it, as they have said before.
So hows about just listening to the album as it was given
I think you guys are being very creative, but chasing nothing. The brothers haven't said tracks are meant to be mixed together, reversed or listened to in a different order. You are congratulating each other like you've solved an actual mystery.
They said that Come to Dust is a reprise of Rtfd, and everyone assumes every track is paired to another. Just enjoy the album as it is.
P.s I'm not trolling.

You might be right but than again it's still fun. Nevertheless Im still enjoying the album very much in its original state.bugsky wrote:I think you guys are being very creative, but chasing nothing. And toying with it *is* fun. Although I am inclined to believe that there aren't any audial easter eggs to be found this way.
Btw I discovered that following the procedure I gave earlier in this thread, the Incredible String Band's Waltz of the New Moon bears a very strong resemblance to, again, Magic Window

Wow, I don't think that I am "on to something" here, but I just found that the alternate track order 'first the odds, then the evens' (01 - 03 - 05 - 07 - 09 -11 - 13 - 15 -17 - 02 - 04 - 06 - 08 - 10 - 12 - 14 - 16) sounds really great, and many bridges would easily make excellent seemless transitions!
Why did I even bother to check it out? Well, I still haven't reconciled with the fact that White Cyclosa does *not* immediately come after Gemini (which it did on my copy of the llive transmission) while it does sound so perfectly fitting there! I didn't even realize a new song was beginning there, until I got the official release and noticed something was different.

After listening to this enough, I'm pretty sure the order is supposed to be:
* 1, 17, 16, 2, 3, 15, 14, 4, 5, 13, 12, 6, 7, 11, 10, 8, 9 *
It's like the palindrome format, only switched every other pair.
Having Sick times as the second to last makes sense to me, with the end part of the track transitioning to Collapse, true beauty for en end experience.

But for me the best order is:
17, 1, 2, 16, 15, 3, 4, 14, 13, 5, 6, 12, 11, 7, 8, 10, 9
all things shining

I think the fact that everyone is suggesting their own preferred track order says it all... there is no super secret special track listing waiting to be discovered. Which is fine, but, yeah, I'm with Starblazer.
I think the main basis for twin tracks which Boards alluded to has already been suggested, in that Collapse is the counterpoint for the two halves of the album which tell of different 'narratives', both reaching the same conclusion. The track listing that people hear is the track listing which I assume the Sandison brothers carefully selected. It doesn't make sense that they'd have chosen a purposefully inferior tracklist for the purposes of a top-secret fan treat. Or does it...?

I made this track "Ceiling Versus Sky" out of Transmissions Ferox and Sundown: http://agreatwhitebird.com/FuturesKind/
I think this is going to be an homage record.
