I recently sold about 2500 records and will probably be selling another 200-500 once i've whittled them down a bit. Got lots of electro, house, breaks and early dubstep I don't really listen to anymore. Mostly stuff I've bought over the years for playing out.

I spy a Drukqs vinyl album! So jealous ;-;

I only recently got into vinyl, so my collection is only about forty or so records in the measly crate

As I've lost the vinyl contest, I'll instead share something completely unique in my setup - These wild fucking speakers:

The shot showing both sides of my speakers isn't uploading for whatever reason, so you only get to see my right channel

I picked these out of this dudes barn. Near as I can tell they're homebrew, with Marantz drivers and EV horn tweeters. There's 12" woofers on the rear of each pyramid. Next to them, my comparatively lame Technics speakers (because why not have more speakers, right?)

Lol! I could barely believe it when I found them myself. The Ambient series has been a personal favourite for nearly a decade..the shop also had Ambient 3 (which I regret not buying now, though it's my least favourite release) and had just sold Ambient 4 a day or two before I got there.

Also, those pyramid-like speakers are out of this world!! Love 'em

Newest additions and some that I forgot last time from my 90s collection... well, almost as I thought the Fauna Flash album was from '99 or so. All original pressings too (except for Twoism of course). I don't have enough room anymore to fit them all into frame :X. I guess I should take one with 2000s stuff as well. Feel free to ask questions etc.

E: Damn, Château Flight is from 2000 as well.

My favorite shop had Ambient 3 in this winter, but I don't really like that one so I passed on it. To find 2 or 4 would have been insane, and to find Ambient 1... I think I would have had a heart attack on the spot, haha

My local store couple years back had original Music For Films (10€) and Ambient 1 (20€). I wasn't too much into Eno back then so I just got Music For Films because it was cheaper... Haven't run into another Ambient 1 since then.

Would LOVE Music for Films! Any of the series..and yes, Ambient 1, sooo sublime. It was only $20, as well as #2 and they're both used, but in superb shape.

I'm probably too lazy to take pictures, but I have about 10-12 crates worth. Some really strange vinyl that I have found over the years. I have many of the usual suspects such as Aphex, Autechre, etc. - but my most treasured vinyl are the super weird ones.

I found this old record from the Railroad Company that wasn't even pressed for public sale. It was only for industry workers. It tells all of these crazy stories about how these guys sacrificed and lost their lives working for the railroad. It's really cool. When I play live, I run it through my Kaoss pad and put all sorts of effects on it, mixing the railroad songs with other material. It always trips people out.

I primarily get my records online (eBay, Discogs, Musicstack) or through contacts from other message boards. It's hard to find the music I am interested in around here. You never see Cuban, African or Brazilian music in Iowa, so those releases are always from the internet.

Record Collector in Iowa City used to be my main spot, but I don't make it down that way as often as I used to. They usually have a nice selection of new releases, but not always what I am looking for. I just talked to a worker there who says they are going to possibly carry more Warp releases! They used to have an amazing IDM section 8-10 years ago.

I'm definitely into record digging, so I usually comb Craigslist for record listings, look in the newspaper for garage sales, etc. Sometimes I make house calls. Half Price Books is great too.

I always come up real nicely at the Half Price Books in West Des Moines. Sometimes Red Rooster in DM as well. But, I don't make it to DM as much as I'd like to these days.

I guess it depends what you're looking for. Iowa kind of sucks for old records, but there is still plenty to be had if you know where to look or watch for Craigslist postings.

I have a lot of records I am getting rid of, if there is any type of music you're looking for, feel free to PM me.

Please post this stuff up. I love oddball releases. I look for a lot of Iowa-based records and one that I have pictured above titled "Iowa Ear Music" is this crazy free-jazz/electronic/avant garde album recorded by professors and students at the University of Iowa. So awesome.
