Got to 45% before it froze. Now the page won't open at all :?:
I can still access it fine. I guess try it again in a few. Also has anyone with the ability to upload this to the twoism server, been able to download this yet? Once its up there, we won't have to deal with all this link mess
Managed to get it second time around, thanks

Unfortunately the remastered version sounds wack. I've just compared it my version of the album and it sounded extremely overcompressed and flat.

Louder doesn't mean better. And I'm a Chris Clark listener if you know what I mean.

Number one: Audiophiles like to complain about compressed music, but they actually prefer it.

There's compressed and there's overcompressed. Loud does always not equal better.

I really enjoy this remastered version.
First, it comes from the orignal lossless rip of the cassette
Second, the running time respects the original one
Third, the transitions between songs are neat

I like very much the Essel version too. But it s not a real remastered version.
It s more for me a reconstructed version because nearly every songs come from other sources like hi score, music etc. When i listen to it, i don t feel to listen the real BoC Maxima.

Agreed. I listened to this remaster and it sounded too loud and brittle and was not an improvement imhop.

Perfectly loud.

I don't have a headphone preamp and this is just what I need for in that noisy metro.

Replacement for original it is not, but thats what we have the original for.

fail

there is compression and there is squashing music to death like LONE used to or VHSHead.
you can "compress" the music with good mixing and EQ.

but when the complaints come about compressed music...generally that means the compression is used to boost the sound, reducing the dynamic range. you lose headroom...you lose a lot of the feel of the tune. you now just have a loud track.

so yes...you can complain about compression. i fucking hate it.

So what is the best version? I must admit I'm finding this one ear piercingly loud.

You can try this version. This is the edit of the original cassette without any remastering :

The 20 tracks FLAC version with correct tags.
