Same. 2005 is when I first heard BoC and I have been obsessed ever since.

End of 2000, I finally gave in to the draw of MHTRTC's cover-art on the recommendation of a great guy called Ben who worked in Disque records (Chapel Street Market, London N1, now gone unfortunately).
I was smitten on first listen! It was like music I'd wished existed but imagined no one was making (I'm sure the funky phat one I was smoking helped!). Realised I'd heard Turquoise Hexagon Sun somewhere before but here on closer inspection it just blew me away along with the entire album.
The very next day I went back in and bought Hi Scores and IABPOITC. Don't think I listened to anyone else for a week or two .. . . . . cheers Ben u r a star m8! 8)
...what subtlety?

First album was MHTRTC, I skimmed through it and didn't "get" it.

Than I heard Pete Standing Alone on youtube because someone said to listen to it, fell in love and the rest is history.
