Orange Hexagon Sun is loads better, I don't know why they went with the turquoise version to release.
For me I'll go with Dayvan Cowboy, I've never liked it. In fact I really think TCH was pretty lame.

Really? Again I wouldn't agree, I think Orange got nothin' on Turquoise!

I like the synth in orange better, Turquoise aint bad I mean they're pretty different versions I guess it all comes down to personal preference etc.

As for tracks, I rarely hate a BoC song, but I've always hated "Open The Light."
Also, I like "Roygbiv," but I've never understood why it's so popular in comparison to their other works.
Open the Light is probably the last track I would have expected anyone to call overrated, much less hate. It is practically the embodiment of MHTRTC's softer, more ambient side. It's the yin to An Eagle in your Mind's yang.
I agree with Roygbiv though. In its original mix, it's pleasant and enjoyable but not a standout. The Alpha Quest remix, on the other hand, brings out its true greatness.
Telephasic Workshop, Roygbiv, Turquoise Hexagon Sun are all BoC's essential signature tracks, no matter how they could be considered today. However, I agree that Happy Cycling is a bit overlong. But for me the weakest track on MHTRTC is Rue The Whirl.
And I have a hard time with Alpha And Omega; it's great music, but I would delete a good 3-4 minutes of it.

I'll start: nearly everything on Tomorrow's Harvest (and by that I mean everything except parts of Gemini, parts of Sick Times, Uritual, Telepath and New Seeds - would say Nothing is Real except that's one of those songs that sounds like the best the first time you hear it but in repeated plays becomes almost nothing because of how repetitive it is), especially Jacquard Causeway. You know how there's songs you really like and then there's some that are just okay and you kind of listen to them without a lot of attachment? You ever hear one that's intolerable, just downright annoying? You cannot continue to listen to it? That's this track for me, and it's literally the only one in BoC's discography.
Going back: Left Side Drive - it's good, it's just not as good as everyone acts like it is
I hate saying this, i really do, but I am pretty damn disappointed with Tomorrow's Harvest. It has its moments, sure, but it was a bit of a shock and a let down. I think it's their weakest album, by a long shot. I'm still very glad they brought it out, and it does have its moments, as I've said, but I know it's never gonna be one I listen to much of. So yeah, I do think it's overrated, much less impressive and powerful as their previous work, but thats just my opinion of course, and I do appreciate what they were going for with this album, and I think they achieved it, but it's not one for me at all.
Not sure why you'd hate saying it. I honestly don't care saying it.
I like artists based on what they put out - never unconditionally. No fanboyism. So I'll state (and have stated blatantly many times) that the majority of Tomorrow's Harvest is uninspired, uninteresting and has a boring, tired sound. It would be much better as an EP, something like:
1. Gemini
2. Sick Times
3. Telepath
4. Uritual
5. New Seeds (best track on the album, by far, and the only one I consider truly up to BoC standards)
I guess Dayvan Cowboy is probably it. It sort of embodies most of my problem with TCH that it seems like they were trying too hard and it seemed simultaneously too grandiose and too purposely muddied. It's not a bad album but I think it's my least favorite of theirs.
It wouldn't surprise me that people who like it the most probably like TH the least. I've probably put in more listens with TH in the past 2 months than I have TCH in 8 years. Everyone has their own tastes, I still think MHTRTC (and that whole overall '95-'98 era) is the embodiment of their sound and their best album (maybe because that's when I got into them), followed by a tie between Geogaddi/TH and then TCH.

Weird - TH seems like the closest thing to a flawless album I've heard from them since MHTRTC. A couple of the songs in the first half took a little time to grow on me, but try as hard as I might over the years, I can never retain interest in listening to TCH after OSTRE, it really just falls off a cliff after that.
Maybe you've just moved on with your musical interest, or maybe you're just not into the purposely cold, disjointed industrial-ish feel that they were (purposely) pushing their "usual" style through. I knew I could certainly HEAR what they were trying to do with TCH, it's just never done much for me. Different strokes.

That's particularly funny because most of what I listen to is Industrial music, from Throbbing Gristle to Coil to Foetus, etc...I just don't like most of the songs on TH. They don't stand out or resonate with me for the most part, and I think the arps are dumb.
But to each their own, if you like it, I'm glad. Like you said "since MHTRTC"...I'm a Geogaddi guy myself.

the campfire headphase is my favorite BOC record. but for years i was never a fan of the track "oscar see through red eye". finally one day, it just clicked. i began to really follow the synths that are in the background throughout the entire track, and i was able to really "feel" the track for the first tiem. that day i realized that the track isn't even like listening to music, its like watching a memory.
Jacquard Causeway. I do not understand all the love for that track, especially when its talked about as if its one of the greatest songs BoC have ever produced. Easily my least favorite cut from TH.

Didn't say I'm not a Geogaddi guy by any means! In terms of my enjoyment level, I'd place Geogaddi and TH closer to MHTRTC with TCH being a distant least favorite, if that makes sense. The great thing about BoC is that I'm sure there are many people who got into them via TCH or it may still be their favorite album. Something for everyone, but maybe not everything is for everyone.
I think this is where I seem to differ from much of the forum. I am not a Geogaddi guy. I don't dislike it by any means, but it is surely far down the proverbial totem pole for me. I can honestly say, I only like three or four songs on the whole album (Math, Alpha, 1969, and Diving Station, off the top of my head). The rest is, to me, like some people seem to view Harvest. The songs just don't click with me and seem like filler between the really great songs, while Harvest is a home run to me.

No, I just meant how Geogaddi isn't considered a better album to you, like it is by the bulk of this forum (at least according to the poll).
