iirc, what's used on this track is a slightly off harmony in fifths... which is based on the golden ratio or the fibonacci ratio (which are very close numerically, but not the same thing). in other words, the harmonies within the pad are very slightly out of tune... which adds to the queasy feel within the track
at least that was the theory, the group couldn't come to a consensus about it...
i'll add this to the wiki soon

i had a sample of that sequence somewhere on my hd. lemme try to find it.

That's part of his sig
That fiboncacci aiff is interesting.. where/how was it generated?
When slowed WAAAAAAAAY down it begins to sort of remind me of the dragged out "ropey / airplane sputtering out" bits in "Diving Station", but I'm pretty certain that's just something going through a ring modulator with no mysterious formula behind it.
I can see that each sound is hitting on a fairly rigid beat.. and it's breaking up, but what's it got to do with 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21 etc?
Listening to "Devil" again.. if there's anything that's supposed to be apparent in there, it's got to be in the hollow-ish main line.
Hell, there could just be musical representations of mathematical formulas all over the place, but it would just be too difficult to spot unless it was known how it was used.
