that tape pulling sound close to the end of eagle in your mind, along with the percussion, that stuff is insane.

When things go all pear shaped towards the end of Melissa Juice and then just smoothly mellow out just before the very end of the song.

Re: Favourite BoC moments
Had posted in another tread recently about being a teen, high, a park and MHTRTC, but tonight my wife said she's pregnant, so we of course went straight to the drugstore to get 5 more tests. All came out positive for such a thing to occur. And while there is much room for things to not pan out at this point, it's a strange moment nonetheless. Very strange. And worrisomely exciting.
After trying for awhile, some long hugs, a few hits and a glass of whiskey (for me only of course), I stepped out onto the balcony for a cigarette. Hit play on Echus and yeah, a new favorite BOC moment.
March Madness.

When the "Eleven" voices come in on Palace Posy.
When You Could Feel The Sky drops down and that strange Native American sounding chant comes in.
The very end of New Seeds, when it suddenly becomes unbearably beautiful.
"The Past Inside The Present"
The part that sounds like a pool break on Turquoise Hexagon Sun.
When the drum loop comes in on Kid For Today, and the clicky projector sound suddenly makes sense.
"Jesus was it you indeed"

So THAT'S what it is! It sounded like vinyl scratching at first but it didn't quite fit.shelf wrote:that tape pulling sound close to the end of eagle in your mind, along with the percussion, that stuff is insane.

When the beat in Mansel gets real dope. Mansel is right now my favourite BoC track.

"I love you" in An Eagle in Your Mind, such a classic moment. It was the first track I properly heard by them, and that bit stunned me.

Recently, "Cold Earth" 1:52-2:00 or so. Such a peculiar groove.
Re: Your favourite specific moments...
music is math, 1:12 - when the deep bass and squelching percussion comes in, and then the vocoder/vocal sample kicks in... AGGHHHHH. this darkness just wells up from within
sixtyniner, 1:09 - when the high synth part comes in by itself in the left channel, the whole tone of the piece totally changes
an eagle in your mind, 4:15 - when the percussion finally snaps into place, it locks into the deepest groove
olson, 1:10 - those piano chords by themselves send shivers down my spine
aquarius, 0:23 - when the drums come in. that clav in the right channel is what really drives the piece for me, though. it's kind of got this traffic-report funk thing going
whitewater, 2:42 - that melody synth in the right channel
and of course
dayvan cowboy, 2:08 - dat guitar

Peacock Tail in particular has three moments: at about 1:59 in when the percussive synth first comes in, at about 3:57 when you hear the female vocals first come in on the left track, and about 4:20 when that "whaaw" synth sound plays in the left track.
Also Olson, when the melody first comes in after just the low throaty chords for a while.

the sound of a match head being struck in Cold Earth.
it's integrated in the rhythm early in the track, and of course it could be anything, but it comes in pairs and continues throughout.
