Yes, her MHTRTC reaction+analysis video was my intro to her channel. Hearing and seeing it broken down and recreated and explained (often over my novice head) is very refreshing. Also watched her Geogaddi which I remember less well and her Tape 05 which was very good. She even, unknowingly seemingly, hit on the same melodic pattern as in the famous[!] YT video "Boards of Canada, recurrent melodic fragment explanation". Can't wait to see what she says about Inferno...

Imagine going into the comments section of the paper you write for to double down on a review you did after a wee bit of criticism. So many journalists have lost their dignity in the social media age.

Absolutely this. Much as i'd love an indepth interview or two, there's a lot to be said for the band's approach of releasing a much-anticpated artistic statement and then saying absolutely nothing about it.

I've read that review.

If you heard that album for about 15 times and write that kind of review, you certainly don't get the picture about this type of music. I would suggest he starts something different like flower arranging or so.

It's a good video and I enjoyed it (he makes good videos generally) but he makes a lot of transcription errors there and some of his arguments about "what boc are doing" depends on those errors.

Ixi's transcription was a lot closer to the actual music.

This is amazing. And yes, I thought it was fitting that Inferno and Paul McCartney’s new album were released on the same day. I like to think that The Beatles - especially throughout their psychedelic period - were massively influential on BOC.

Honestly yeah, Ixi is great. I appreciate how she engages with the musical theory of the stuff she does her videos on--it's more than an off-the-cuff reaction and value judgment. Insightful and fun!
