The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
Anyone else got this cd yet? I'm assuming theres at least a few shins fans in here.
its definitely different from the other stuff of theirs that I have but I like most of it. I especially like Sleeping lessons, Black Wave, and Red Rabbits.
So whatcha think?

You know, I've tried to get into them. For some reason it just seems like there is nothing distinctive enough about them to recommend them. Granted, I haven't listened to all of their new cd, but the tracks I've heard were good but.. ultimately forgettable....
That's the problem.. they're forgettable...

I've seen the shins live 3 times in seattle, they're great. He has a wicked set of wind pipes. He can project his voice very well and I'd recommend checking his show out for sure. The only complaint i have is their performance is TOO spot-on. It just sounds like someone popped in the actual cd and bumps their tunes really fucking loud.
The new album isn't really catching me in anyway...I'll probably let it float by just like all the other new releases that have been mediocre.
