wasn't aimed at you in particular, if you don't have the money there's no legal solution ... suggesting others should Soulseek it is a bit low though

the amount of requests and passing of illegal links or suggestions of file sharing on here takes the piss at times though ... it clearly states in the forum rules its not acceptable and yet time and time again it happens

maybe we should all just stop buying music all together and steal it instead, then have a big group cry when the artists give up on making it anymore due to the falling financial support?

(any flaming in response to this post will be laughed off)

not really, soulseek isn't a hidden treasure, it's just another source of getting music (illegally that is). i'm not advertising it, it's already known.

it has it's impact on the music industry, and it's not gonna change if we go around all talking about it on the forum. most of the people who hear (non-mainstream) music would probably buy the releases and support the artists if they could.. because not any person listens to this sort of music; we're better intellectually than britney spears fans for instance, who wouldn't really care about supporting the artist because the artist is fucking loaded to begin with, not to mention that their thinking capacity doesn't go far beyond the release, sometimes not farther than 1 track.

I don't mean to sound angry at all, but I think that without soulseek and related platforms, we wouldn't be knowing more music... if i didn't have soulseek or download music massively my knowledge and/or understanding about music as a whole would be much less, and more ignorant.

to be honest with you, I think we should start advertising soulseek, maybe it'll open people's eyes on new and better music.

I also think that people should experiment on downloading music, because sometimes you get some albums that you don't like for the first or second listen, sometimes for an entire year. some music grows slow on you, some music catches your attention and admiration instantly.

i'm sorry if i don't make too much sense since i'm a bit drunk.

cheers

This is one of my fav tracks as well... The ending, with the fugue-like synths, is the most amazing part to me. Also the use of "implied harmony" rather than straight up harmony. LOVE IT!

all well and good eppers but the imploding music industry says different

its out of control and the loss is far greater than any gain, people are happy just downloading illegally for free for whatever reason(s) and won't buy those releases ... potential revenue gone, labels and artists packing up shop
