i think ghibli movie music (especially totoro) influenced mine, other than that the soundtrack to godzilla 1985 (or return of godzilla) and video game music (sonic, megaman, this old gamera snes game) really did alot for me, wish id heard some of the music i found when i was older when i was younger ...

i seriously though i was the only person who noticed this. its definitely the rhythm that the vocals are cut up, and the sound of the beat too in the middle too. powerful sharp and snarey (pretty much every reason i love spiro so much)

corsair, undeniably. the chords it goes through, the general sound of it, and the fact that it's the closer to such a dark album after some light almost baaarely shines through. and its not even the last track aw geez
