I'll be going to the Manchester gig in October I'd imagine.

Double figure was the first album of theirs that I listened to, its a class album hence a good starting point. But really its all marvelous far as PLAID is concerned, even the movie sound track albums "tekkon kinkreet" and "Heavans Door" are really good.saurus wrote:Wheey proud new Plaid convert hereWhat does twoism recommend i wet my whistle with from Plaids catalogue?

This could be good.
Plaid are a one of those bands that don't seem to have a middle ground for me... I either really, really like a song by them, or I really, really hate it. So this album could go either way for me.
Still, this is the first time in a few years that Warp Records are showing some semblance of relevance, in my opinion... so I'll take what I can get from them.

If you mean their hang drum sounds, that's one of my favourite bits about them!SampleScience wrote:This is good news. The funny thing is that I just bought their Spokes album on vinyl (2-LPs) last weekend. Their music is very inspiring. The only thing that I don't like is their drum sounds, otherwise the rest is very well done.

New track 'Missing' is available to folks who've pre-ordered the album. Very pretty tune. Wouldn't be out of place on one of their film soundtracks.

Still kinda hoping we get some more percussive stuff on the album as I most like Plaid when they get a groove going.

on the same page as warphead.... never really felt this band's music. I appreciate it though. they have the occasional track that I enjoy, but I'm tired of sifting through entire cds of theirs only to find one track that I like. respect though. I love the album artwork with the circular arrangement of block letters. I hope you all enjoy this album!
